Colin, I don’t get the ‘stay in your lane’ mentality with video game adaptations. Books are adapted in great movies all the time. There have been plenty of successfully adaptations between all kinds of pieces of art (i.e. Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now into Spec Ops The Line). Just because all the Hollywood attempts have been half assed and misguided doesn’t mean a good adaptation isn’t possible.

The reason the 360 towel trick worked is because it reapplied the solder. You could have also put it in the oven if you only put in the motherboard. I actually fixed a phone that way after exhausting all other options. It doesn't always work, but it works a surprising amount of the time.

I personally don't care about Godfall, it looks way to generic and I really don't resonate with the loop of loot-oriented shooters. Regardless, I do wish to hear your thoughts about that game, it is a PS5 console exclusive after all. I know that you both will be honest and thorough in your comment whether you buy it or receive it from the developer. In my opinion, do it if you feel like it.

Those opening 30 minutes were genuinely hilarious, Chris was in fine form. I think the biggest factor in Crash selling fewer copies is that it's full price, the N Sane trilogy had a budget price. Also, I think you should definitely go ahead with Gearbox, Colin. That game is the big enigma of the launch line up so I'd definitely love to hear what you, Chris and Dustin have to say on it.

Just my two cents here but I think it's great that Gearbox reached out to you guys. Just because certain developers and publishers have blacklisted you shouldnt mean you should be unwilling to work with anyone. I think that seeking out opportunities is probably a waste of time and braincells but if a dev comes to you in good faith then there is no harm in seeing where it goes. If nothing else see this as an opportunity for Gearbox to make the case for their game which on the outside seems uninspired aesthetically and mechanically maybe there is more to it under the surface. Would the discussion around crunch not be an issue if these studios stop announcing release dates/coming (season-yr) 1-2 yrs out? I mean Most AAA games get delayed nowadays. I feel like they are setting themselves up for failure by doing this.

I can also confirm the towel trick worked for my 360s. Wasn’t ever a permanent fix for me but it helped occasionally. A Stone Cold Steve shirt sounds tempting lol. On the topic of loneliness, I’d say the way it’s always worked for me is just to focus on other things that would keep your mind busy. For you guys that seems to be work, for me it’s more of just relaxing and going through the backlog whether it be games, shows, whatever. Then, making an effort to get out there helps too, whether it’s in person or online, just being willing to meet new people. Lastly, on the PR front, I’d say definitely do the Godfall coverage. Could be the start of these guys finally waking up and seeing the audience you have. Plus, I think Godfall is in such a weird place where your coverage of it will shine a light on it whether good or bad, ‘cause right now I’m totally indifferent towards it.

When discussing the new 8.00 update you guys forgot to mention that they also completely ruined how party chat works. Its now a huge hassle to manage, join, and create parties with different groups of friends. It was a completely unnecessary change the old party system worked perfectly.

Hey C, C, &amp; D I'm glad the big D himself ;) brought up DLSS. It's Nvidia's technology and AMD still doesn't have an answer for it; And unfortunately Sony's checkerboarding solutions are a joke in comparison. I really sympathize with Chris, it's kind of sad that Sony is boasting 120fps (granted I'd say not as hard as their competitor) and not having the "performance mode" on their most anticipated exclusive be running at said framerate. This could be a result of Sony first party titles only having two options "performance or fidelity" vs a variety of 3rd party games I've seen supporting several framerate and resolutions but that's just my theory. Ps. Have been a Patreon for quite sometime but this is my first time commenting and just wanna say I love when all three of you are on the mic, Colin steering the ship, Chris' infectious wildness and Dustin's Wit makes a mean combo. Just wanted to say thank you for mentioning about delivery drivers (like myself) and manual labor types etc. I just get so annoyed by the stupid crunch articles on gaming when there are many others doing the same if not more. Since COVID I don’t know of a driver whose done less than 60-70 hour work weeks from March which will continue until the new year at minimum. From political mail to Christmas it’s just non ending. And hearing you talking about it was very nice. Thanks Colin!

Microsoft gave a free adaptor for the Kinect when the One S released (I included a link about it below). Don't forget the fine print on BC games on PS5. The fine print establishes that there WILL BE errors present when playing some ps4 games. But everyone seems to gloss over this and I have no idea why.

Get access to Godfall if you so choose! I feel like you guys wouldn't play it if not offered because it's a "looter slasher" but I think it's important as a "huge PS5 exclusive" that you all have played the game. Just my two cents, thanks!

Sony was holding it back to build hype, like everything else. Again, a staggering 80% of next gen console preorders are PS5 units. I’d say their strategy is working. Still refusing to let the new UI be spoiled for me. Can’t wait to see it on 11/12.

I don't understand how everyone is misinterpreting the record/report feature for parties. It seems crystal clear that party chats will not be constantly monitored or auto-moderated. This is simply a feature that allows someone inside a party the ability to record the voice chat and report it. I see no problem with this and think it will affect virtually nobody. People only get in parties with their friends and if you are worried about them recording you and reporting you then it's possible you have trust issues or need better friends. This will simply stop people from inviting strangers to parties after they played and then harassing them.

Why do we only seem to ever hear the same 15-20 names being read off for audience questions? Is it because they write in the most, or that they have the highest quality/most topical questions for the week, or are all they all aliases that you use to write yourself questions? I just wanted to chime in on the whole resolution conversation. There has never been a Sony product that has supported 1440p. The PS4, PS4 Pro, and all their TVs do not support 1440p natively. There is currently no TV on the market that supports 1440p natively. 1440p is an extremely niche PC based resolution that the mass market doesn't really have any access to with their devices unless they specifically buy a 1440p monitor. I don't see Sony ever undermining their TVs by supporting 1440p natively, especially when the UI on the PS5 is in native 4k HDR.
