With regards to the ~58 minute mark on this podcast, I found out this week that you can lookup total time played on a game under your profile —> games tab. there you’ll see a summary of trophy progress but more importantly, underneath the name of each game is the last time title was played and total amount of time played.

Props to Dustin for suggesting how to solve your audio issue with your PS5! I was listening to your problem and I felt like I was listening to Car Talk with Click & Clak The Tapper Bros. all over again. But instead of a bad muffler, it seems to me your issue is with a surround sound setting in the console’s menu—look for an option regarding the center channel. Again, Dustin is the man! He brings technical knowledge to which you two luddites are clearly lacking. ✌️ Be sure to let us know the solution. It may help some others.

Not interested in these 3 person episodes. I know this is considered a “special” episode, but imo that makes it all the more important to have it be tried and true SS. I know this isn’t going to be an every week type of thing, and I’m not trying to overreact, but I’m concerned with the direction of SS and CLS in general. More voices, across all of the shows, does not equal an increase in quality.

The Pathless is indeed awesome from what I've played so far. The movement feels incredible, the art direction is gorgeous, and the frame rate is a buttery 60 on PS5. Highly recommend!

Just to inform you guy's about the DualSense experience, Demon Souls makes great use of the controller. You can feel the magic charging up from the character arm surging to the release from the hands. Also, use a good pair headsphones because the audio is sensational.

Got a series X from Microsoft and a PS5 direct from Sony’s Magic email. The retail chains are breaking down more than usual as we rush to all online shopping.

Just FYI Colin, criticizing people for “not preordering” a PS5 with “I told ya so” is fucking shitty, considering the way the preorder situation unraveled. I am sure most of your listenership is still trying to get one, and it’s been a frustrating endeavor I can assure you. We WANTED to preorder it. You’ll recall a Sony executive told Geoff Keighley something to the effect that the pre-order date wouldn't be a surprise, and that there would be plenty of warning beforehand. Well as everybody knows, after the Sony event that happened the day (an event that DIDN’T announce a preorder date), a bunch of retailers jumped the gun and made it available for preorder overnight, without any warning that was promised by Sony. Since the Sony event that day didn't announce the pre-order date, I'm sure most fans checked out for the day, not aware that the pre-orders were already prematurely underway. Not everybody can keep odd/late hours and stay up overnight refreshing retail stores and social media feeds, so it’s unfair to criticize people who weren't able to preorder. Obviously, had the preorder date been announced in advance as promised by Sony, I’m sure most people would’ve carved out some time to participate in the preorder frenzy, but most people didn’t even find out about it until the following morning – hours after everything had sold out. As of now, Sony fans with the PS5 are the the very fortunate and lucky minority, not the majority.

FYI for those that don't have a PS5 yet: You can still add the free PS5 game from PS Plus to your library by using the PS App. So if you're have trouble getting the console, at the very least you can still get the free PS Plus games to play later.

I've been saying this since we figured out exactly what the avengers game really was. They should have passed it off to one of their Japanese team and made a single player final fantasy esque (XV, VIIR) Avengers game, made it anime as fuck they would have sold gangbusters. One look at any one of their SuperHero redesigns for their Play Arts Kai figures should've told them which direction their inspiration should've taken them.

I’m with Dustin though on the PS5, it’s clearly more poised to be vertical because it’s so obtuse horizontally and the stand doesn’t even work as good that way. Def agree with you on the PS button. I miss it being a circle button. To see your play time on PS5: Go to your profile, games. You’ll see the list and time played. I’m genuinely curious to hear your guys’ times. Not surprised Watch Dogs is on the NPD. It launched already on sale and the marketing looked good. The final product though...I’ll get back to you on that after I play it.

In a vertical position the base attachment actually screws in and makes standing vertical very secure. Missed that a few times till I was waiting on the PS4 to initialize and reading the instructions booklet

I’m actually glad you can pick between PS4 and PS5 versions. I downloaded the PS5 version of No Man’s Sky but went back because I didn’t want a split trophy list. It’s really aggravating that I’m going to have to do that again with Avengers because they are even doing split lists on live service games for some reason.

Colin, If you can read this, I had the same issue with the missing center channel voice. You need to change the ps5 settings to bitstream DTS audio. This is how it’s set in your OLED hdmi port. That will fix your issue

I am fortunate enough to have gotten my console delivered on launch day but unfortunately got one of the ones with a decent amount of coil whine :( my ps5 is far from silent. My PS4 Pro is quieter, but I guess I got lucky with mine being very quiet.

Hey Colin I just want to let you know about trophies auto popping on the next-gen upgrades for some games. According to PSNProfiles my brand new quickest Platinum is now No Man's Sky at one second at less than one hour of playtime on my PS5 profile. Which now bugs me. I feel like I cheated. Also Fortnite trophies also auto popped. I haven't tried Borderlands 3 yet but I'm guessing it works.

I'll be the nay sayer, the controller is annoying AF. I get it, it feels deferent, but it's too much. I think the controller will be forgotten about by Devs. The touchpad was treated as a big button for crying out loud. They have to make a game for PS, XB and PC. You actually think they will give 2 chits about adaptive triggers? No, it's just a gimmick. I like the controller, but it will not be implemented. Again, the touch pad, the 2 games I can think of off the cuff that used it were Infamous SS and Ghost of Tsushima. So some random first party games at the beginning and end of the gen will use it. Outside of that, it won't be implemented at all IMO. Also, the motors in the triggers will fail and/or break. Trying to push against pulling means something has to fail. IMO, it's the trigger motor.
