Defining Duke, Episode 3: Halo Infinite's Massive Potential

Today, Defining Duke invites in their very first guest to show, Chris Ray Gun! Chris sits down with Matty and Karak to mull over the 29 confirmed exclusive games dropping in 2021, but it always came back to Halo. Whether it is a flagship IP or not is up for debate, but the reality is that Halo Infinite is currently Xbox's biggest announced game coming soon and that means a lot is riding on it. From the free-to-play multiplayer, to valuable lessons learned by 343, to the campaign, Halo Infinite has all to gain or lose. The boys also sink their teeth into new major additions to Game Pass and Microsoft shopping for big studios to acquire. For a company that just acquired Bethesda, it looks like they're not done yet, but who's next?  That along with the future of Ninja Gaiden, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and more squeeze into this week's show! Let's discuss.

Katana Zero is an amazing game pass pick. I played it on Switch and loved it

Long time follower of CLS and I like the format. ACG, is it possible to cut down on the number of F bombs in the new xbox show. The other CLS shows havn't been too bad but I really can't listen to this with my kids running around. Just thought I send some constructive feedback. My brother thought the same thing as well. Not sure if I'm the only one but I figured I mention it because it seems like its getting worse.

Justin Rauer

Sony and Microsoft have nothing this year ummm what

Wayde

Karak and I have ran a show for years, but it was our first time with Chris! A true natural.

MrMattyPlays

Wow, the chemistry with the three of you was amazing. Was this the first time you folks did a podcast? Everyone seemed to compliment each other’s personality without overlap.

Greg Mocha

Appreciate the feedback! Sorry for missing this. I think we were talking heavy hitters like GoW, Horizon, and Ratchet where we believe GoW and Ratchet will likely be delayed. Still on us for not accurately delivering the current picture tho, so thank you for this!

MrMattyPlays

I do not remember a year they had games like GoW Horizon Gran Turismo Deathloop Kena Ghostwire Returnal Ratchet Clank Destruction AllStars in one year. 3-4 of them are absolut bangers. Not to mention all those other indiegames. Idk, compared to the lackluster PS4 Launch this is great.

Kai Dtmrs

Yeah that was seriously confusing. Chris literally listed off three potential bangers. Yeah GoW and HFW might get delayed, but it’s insane to say Sony has nothing.

Bogey Zero

I am flabbergasted. How did they come to the opinion that Sony has no banger for 2021? Especially compared to Xbox its two different worlds. Did I overlook something? 2021 seems to be one of the best years for PlayStation ever. Same way 2020 was incredible.

Kai Dtmrs

Yeah, the comparison Karak made wasn't an apt one.

Ryan Cornez

It really is amazing that Last Stand is big enough to get these three together on a show. Dream lineup really.

Your Boi Nicky V

Regarding Medium: Rendering two worlds with their completely separate geometry and textures is NOT the same as having a split-screen multiplayer, where the same map is being rendered from two different viewpoints. In Medium they have two sets of everything that are being loaded into the memory of the GPU. So at least from a technical standpoint it kinda is a big deal. Let’s hope the game is cool, I really could do with a spiritual successor to Silent Hill.

Pascal Pazanda

This is confusing on so many levels. Chris and Colin do give us a recommendation each week and Chris appearing here doesn't mean Matty and Karak aren't doing their own thing.

Your Boi Nicky V

Uh, unless I’m confused, they do recommend a game each week on Sacred Symbols. It’s the segment that replaced The Drop.

Anthony A.

Coming around to an Xbox Podcast. It’s well done.

Robbie Agnew

What is this Colin? Chris goes to be on Defining Duke but we can't get a game recommended to play on Sacred symbols like I asked. Your answer is that you wanted to keep Defining duke doing their own thing and likewise so why cant we have a game recommended each week?

Zack Fair

You guys rock! Love hearing Chris's voice as a guest!

Anthony J Sanchez

Boy, oh boy! Can't wait to catch up on this after work. Absolutely loving this show! Thank you guys for everything you do!
