It's literally only because Sony physically cannot manufacture any more. There aren't the components available for them to make Playstation 5's. There's no weird conspiracy.

Just a couple of things Colin. First I know Best Buy and Target implemented a 1 per customer limit and in store pickup only fairly early on for PS5. This is most likely the reason I was able to get mine two weeks after launch. Also, I've noticed lately Sony has been cutting the prices of their games around three months after release. I would keep an eye out for Sackboy to be on sale soon. I know I've been waiting myself. Thanks for making the best game related content out there!

Do u think ps5's aren't stocked in stores b/c all the big retailer/gov't giants have everything to gain by making ppl pay higher prices along with guaranteed sales? Retailers get guaranteed sales by scalpers, and gov'ts get higher sales tax. I just don't see retailers trying to sell their stock off their store shelves or legislators trying to make laws to prohibit bots/scalping. Seems like a greedy pact among the giants to step on the little man even more.

Man, I got to agree about being disappointed in lack of PS5 exclusivity. I don't have one and it's nice to have the option to play Horizon Forbidden West on my PS4 if I want, but if Miles Morales is an indication with its lower sales many PS4 players are probably just not going to want to play it on their last-gen system anyway. Who knows if they will still be interested by the time they get one. I certainly don't want to play inferior versions when I could probably wait.

I also believe that the PS2 Classic would probably have MGS2 and FFX like how the PS Classic had MGS and FF7. The main difference with the PS2 classic is it could have games like Shadow of the Colossus and Ratchet and Clank instead of games like Battle Arena Toshinden and Cool Boarders 2

The $800 dollar Canadian to $3 US made my day lmao. I agree with you on the last question, why is there so many freaking games on cross gen? If sony is trying to justify or double dip on sales because of the 110million Ps4s then why did you make a PS5? And I can answer this as someone who waited and looked wether it was for 5 minutes or an hour a day to finally get my hands on a PS5 2 weeks ago. It seems very minimalist and unnecessary almost. In a way it feels rushed there's no key difference besides the UI and I know the "next gen" feeling is the inside of the console but there's like 5 exclusives. For those of you that don't have one WAIT! and trust me it is not worth the scalping price of 1,000 plus its more of a true! Ps4pro 2.0 than a ps5. It's why they're out of the market and Sony is capitalizing on its luster and desire for one. Just like Karak said don't buy one right now. WAIT

Honestly I’m a bit relieved that I can wait a while longer to get a PS5. I refuse to pay scalper prices, and it gives me more time to just enjoy all the games I already have. If we’re still dealing with this shit when God of War: Valhalla cones out though, that’ll be a different story.

I was lucky to snag *one* PS5 from a scalper for $675 late November. That said, I'm not disappointed that the newest games arent PS5 Exclusive. What even is a "Tailor made PS5 Experience?" A few less controller gimmicks? All they have to do is scale the performance up or down for each console as they do with PC Hardware. A lower performance PS4 port doesnt mean our PS5 version is inherently a worse game.

Still searching for a PS5. The level of stress & anxiety is bumming me out. Might save up for a scalper as well, unfortunately. Sony and the retailers don’t care about bots / scalpers because they make money. Doesn’t matter how people buy them.

Is making a handheld even really going to be worth it going forward for Sony? I feel as they get more and more western focused I think Sony might try to copy Microsoft more then Nintendo. Phone base solutions via cloud regardless of what we think. I think billion dollar companies are more focused on that then making a handheld. Nintendo is in my view the exception to the rule as they litterally do whatever they want.

Hey Colin, thanks for taking my question, I appreciate it. Very well said response. What solidified my idea to write in was the disappointment expressed about RE8. I’m totally with you on everything else. Even as someone who can’t find a PS5 I found it very disappointing that Horizon 2 will be on PS4. Sony has the highest quality first party games, so even if I knew it was just PS5, I know it would be well worth the wait. When it comes to these big, first-party IP I would agree that I’d love for them to not be held back by last gen. Have a great day! Great mailbag episode
