Defining Duke Ultimate, Episode 1: Has Xbox Earned Their Hype?

A show designed to extend our conversation of all things Xbox and PC as well provide more interaction with the audience. This is our weekly Patron only supplement, but this one is free to all, so welcome! As with all new content, we want to mold this to the audience feedback and that is exactly what a lot of this first episode is based around. From Xbox's hype with not much (yet) to show, to Bethesda's future with the company, and early reports of both the pros and cons of Defining Duke! We do plan to bring in the likes of Karak, Chris, Colin, and Dustin to keep the content fresh, but for the beginning of it all, it's only Matty!

2021-02-05 14:36:02 +0000 UTCHey I have a topic I think would be a great ultimate episode. You should talk about all the Xbox studios, the talent they have, and how many teams/studios they have. I feel like a lot of people don’t realize how big some of these studios actually are and also don’t seem to notice that they also have other studios besides their main one. For example undead labs in 2019 opened a second studio near inxile in New Orleans in a partnership with a college. I think this would be a great way for people to understand who these teams are and what they made.

We just want them to be themselves and not have to alter their natural behaviour; if that involves some swearing then so be it. That’s what we want from you guys. I really think it’s a bad move to change your conversational style because it’s going to result in you guys not being your true selves. Don’t go changing that dynamic, it adds so much to the show. This isn’t a podcast for children and theres earbuds for everyone out there.

Been loving the show and so glad you have a pc section because honestly I can’t invest in the Xbox ecosystem at the same time as PlayStation but I love my pc and have no problem supporting Microsoft’s great work on pc :-) . It adds an edge that comes naturally as far as I’m concerned. It reminds me a bit of the old Mike and the Mad Dog shows on WFAN. They never cursed, but they brought a lot of energy to the table. Matty and ACG do the same, but with a twist. Personally, I don’t find the cursing excessive at all 🤷♂️

Some people are always going to dislike cursing but, for the rest of us, it’s completely fine and even more entertaining in my opinion. I don’t know, when I hear Matty say, “Oh I’m about to curse here...” it just makes me cringe because there is no reason to have to censor like that. It’s not like you guys are completely vulgar, disgusting, or TRULY offensive. Anyway, hopefully I said that well enough, but great episode nonetheless! I loved every minute.
