Defining Duke, Episode 5: The Clock On Xbox's Bethesda Deal Is Ticking

Comments

I would like to cast my vote for “curse all you want.” I understand that some people listen with children, but are we going to change everything in order to cater to them? Didn’t we already go down this fucking rabbit hole in society? I think the hosts should be true to themselves. They should express themselves comfortably. I could write an essay on why cursing isn’t actually a bad thing, but whatever. Fuck it...

Remove the jar and keep dropping them bombs.

Fonz

These Defining Duke episodes are getting better and better makes me wanna buy an Xbox soon lol keep up the great job guys

Keep dropping them F Bombs! It’s for charity! But maybe don’t make a point about it every time one of you guys swear, just silently do it and mention at the end how much you raised for charity.

As an Aussie personally I don’t think there is enough swearing 😆 but seriously less swearing would be more professional but at the same time it’s good to listen to a podcast where people swear. I can relate to it more and you guys feel more genuine than others.

Kano

Dude this show is amazing I love it a ton. Can't believe it has moved into my S tier of Podcasts I have to listen to right away already! Great work guys.

DoubleDave

Although I couldn't really give a toss about the swearing. In terms of "professionalism" it's good to be able to remove them if you ever want to have high level corporate Microsoft staff on the show. Just the way of the game, media training and all that.

Just wanted to say. That sneeze was legendary. Can’t wait to hear more sneezes. That’s all I have to say.

Cory Towler

Not sure what the point of the swear jar is. People that have issues with the swearing aren't going to listen regardless if each swear is 2 bucks for charity. So, either don't swear at all, or just do what you want and the couple people who have an issue have to deal. Right now, you are trying to appease everyone and I don't see the point because it isn't going to work. You don't swear any more than any of LSM's other shows.

I prefer the raw language but I also don't have children. But if I did I might just pop in 1 earbud

*A question for Defining Duke Ultimate* Hey Matty, Hope you’re well! I’d love to hear why you do not like Final Fantasy XII, so tell me, why do you not like Final Fantasy XII? I played it as a kid on PS2 but never beat it and I remember being pretty underwhelmed, but I was tempted to jump into it on switch. Convince me why I shouldn’t. Thanks for the content dude!

2 comments on the reduction of swearing: 1. Don’t do it artificially, just express whatever you feel. This isn’t advertised as a family show. If your being authentic then that’s all that matters. 2. In a slight contradiction of the above. The charity swear jar idea was funny as hell and Karak swearing Matty into poverty will be entertaining to watch / listen to should this continue. Keep up the excellent work fellas 👍

Ross Winyard

You guys are amazing! Keep up the great work

We're in the middle of "the apocalypse of our time" and people are concerned about swearing? Please don't tone down your passion and the way you talk about things. ACG is right; it will change the way you express yourself and that is not good. Thanks, and as Joe Dirt says "Keep on keeping on!"
