The main question coming out of weeks of aggressive Game Pass deals and the Bethesda acquisition is what should PlayStation be doing? They continue to step further away from backwards compatibility and dominated with new IP for the entirety of the last generation. Haven’t listened to the episode just yet, but based solely on the premise of the question...absolutely not. Sony sold a bunch of software in 2019-2020, and many of those sales will be carried into the eventual sequels to these games. Considering games that have already come out for the console (Astro’s Playroom, Demon’s Souls and Miles Morales) and the expected releases this year (Ratchet & Clank, Returnal, Deathloop, Kena, Horizon II, and some choice indie titles), Sony is in a good position to release a truly next gen experiences and warrant up to $70 for it, minus the smaller/indie titles.

Love the different reactions to “dickalicious” 😄 I would agree with Dustin on Xbox buying out studios, BUT this actually helps me personally because now I never have to buy another Bethesda game ever again. Day 1 Game Pass is huge. I would’ve bought a Series S at the time if I had known that most 3rd party games run better on PS5 (so far). It would’ve been my Game Pass machine but I’m glad I went with the Series X especially now with the Bethesda deal, and that I’m finally gonna upgrade to a 4KTV soon. Definitely need that Matty & Dustin Japan Vlog series.

2021-04-01 08:05:34 +0000 UTCI honestly wouldn’t do a damn thing if I were Sony. Their games are all better quality than any Xbox exclusive imo. But they do need to fix their backwards compatibility problem, especially with PS3 games.
