Slight correction... Uncharted's collectibles do indirectly unlock different modifiers for the game. Finding them contributes to the "points" total in the Extras menu, which you can then spend on the different categories (modifiers, skins, artwork) as you see fit. My apologies if this was already mentioned elsewhere in the comments.

Big topic we need to Discuss if possible: Trailer for Ratchet and Clank PS5 came out today, amazing. Gets me hyped for PS5. RETURNAL COMES OUT IN 4 DAYS! Why is Sony PR mucking up this badly. (it's the Titan fall 2 mess all over again.) They should be pumping out adds for Returnal left right and center, not doing short previews with media outlets! I'm saying it now, Returnal's sales will fall flat on arrival not because the game was bad but because Sony looked the other without giving it even a chance. Just wanted to add that John Garvin left Bend 6 days after the launch of Days Gone to work on his book. I’m pretty sure Jeff was gone too before a sequel was pitched. I’ve listened to both of the interviews and I think the candid nature of them is why some people are calling them unprofessional.

Colin do you really not understand how a market works ? If the games are going to disappear forever digitally that makes the physical copies the only ones available therefore making them more rare. They then become more valued that's why the prices went up

It’s hard to comfortably recommend listening to the whole Garvin-Jaffe Talk considering it’s 4 hours long, but there were way more interesting subjects talked about than the one that hit headlines. I feel bad for John, considering the tone of the show was very conversational and I doubt he anticipated that they’d hold his feet to the fire for his exact wording. Unsurprising but disappointing when it’s pretty easy to steel man his position and interpret the best possible version of what he was getting at. I’m glad this week’s episode suggests that Garvin was well-meaning.

To the John Garvin topic. All any of this is, whether it's a game, movie or tv or even this podcast is just entertainment. And if me not purchasing a game at full price or not going to a movie or giving to a Patreon anymore puts those things in jeopardy of going away then it is what it is. The one thing you know is there will always be something else to replace the thing lost when it comes to entertainment.

I know you mentioned God of War collection on Vita Colin, fair warning, the trophy list is EXTREMELY messed up. I've been frustrated trying to get the plat for things not popping. Check out a few of the threads on the game on PSNProfiles before you start just to be sure.

Loved this episode! Like you, I've been surprised how much I am enjoying my time with Outriders so far and I'm looking forward to the SS+ episode on the game. When discussing NPD figures you mentioned Outriders placing at number 3 overall and on Playstation platforms, also that you would assume people aren't buying the game on Xbox. I was surprised to see Outriders also charted at number 3 on Xbox platforms in that same NPD drop, beating out Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019)! https://twitter.com/MatPiscatella/status/1383043001212043266?s=20 I'm not quite sure what to make of this. I'm sure PS sales still far outnumber Xbox sales of the game but I didn't expect the game to chart so highly on Xbox. In regards to Colin buying God of War Collection for an unbelievable price recently (time code 1:11:15), Play-Asia recently printed off a final run of popular Vita titles including GoW and Dragon Quest Builders. During the NPD talk, SS talked about PlayStation in comparison to Nintendo in regards to game sales but stated how Nintendo’s games rarely if ever go on sale; however, has anyone noticed on PSN that none of the PS5 launch games on PS4 have yet to be seen on sale?

In a nutshell I’d say destiny 2 is a FPS mmo, and where halo would be if bungie kept going on that franchise. It is hands down the best controlling FPS game ever made and if you just want to play through the story, I believe the majority is free 2 play and you can play it single player. Other than strikes but they are matchmade and relatively easy. I guess it’s a big nutshell

Garvin admitted that he was fired six days after the game shipped. He didn’t outright say “fired” but alluded that it was a severance package/mutual decision. He said on Jaffes stream that his performance was bad in the office where he would shout things like “just give me a fucking package so I can get out of here” so there was a lot of bad blood there during development up until gold. He didn’t even get to see first week sales.

Re: Days Gone launch woes, does anyone actually doubt that Sony fucked them by forcing the release before it was ready such that the game didn't get too close to TLOU2? Irony is they ended up delaying TLOU2 anyway, but there's no way Bend wasn't forced off the ledge by Sony to get the game out even in the broken state it was in because of TLOU2.
