I agree but I also believe some of its ease of difficulty is down to the much improved mobility the 2 lombax have in combat. The dash mechanic especially makes evading fire relatively easy to do consistently. At the same time, that dash mechanic is also what gave RA the best combat in the series IMO. Just wish I knew to play it on the hardest difficulty instead.

I played through the entire R&C series leading up to Rift Apart and I’ve got to say, it would’ve been a disappointment if they got rid of the Clank puzzles. Also Hard mode on this was equivalent to Normal on every other game in the series.

I'm getting a little annoyed with the attitude towards games being brought backwards. If you feel like the games you've been getting haven't been good, then yeah go ahead and complain but if you've been okay with what you've been playing then why complain? One of the write ins said they bought the ps5 withe the notion that they'd only be able to play demon souls on PS5? If the games comes to ps4 then just sell your console then.... and enjoy playing that game in a weakned state. I bought the ps5 because I knew my games would look better and that with the pedigree of Sony prior that I would want to play games looking their best.

Great episode as always. Its funny to hear about technical issues with ratchet. I beat it almost twice with the Plat and didn't really have any issues with bugs. In regards to the clank sections I had to add they there have always or almost always been clank sections so it's nothing new.

As a primarily Xbox player I think it sucks that Playstation fans are not going to be getting Bethesda titles. But I look at it like this. You have said before about Sony not acquiring studios something along the lines of 'why buy the cow when you can get the milk...', and this is where Microsoft was left as a huge disadvantage at the beginning of the generation. There was no milk, Sony bought all of it. They, presumably deliberately, went around and bought timed exclusivity for almost every single third party next generation only release. All Xbox was able to get any rights to was 6 months of exclusivity on The Medium which was nothing to write home about. So what can they do at that point? Open a new studio and maybe get a game out by the middle of the generation? They have a longstanding history with Bethesda and Sony had already secured the rights to the first 2 next gen games in Deathloop and Ghostwire and were for sure working on getting Starfield. I guarantee they would have also gone for and probably gotten Redfall leaving, again, no milk whatsoever. So, whether out of desperation or just a money flex, Microsoft did what Microsoft can, bought the whole farm. Again it sucks that PS may not get Wolfenstein 3 or ES6 or the next Doom, but what are the odds Xbox gets a Sunset Overdrive sequel if Insomniac makes one? I imagine pretty slim. What about all the new studios opening up that are in exclusive partnerships with Sony? Are they really denying an entire platform because Playstation Studios make quality games? Or because Sony cut them a check? I wanted to play those games so I bought a PS5, if I was only a PS5 player I would prolly buy an Xbox as well just for those. I know some people are against it but on a plus side it seems like they are offering plenty of alternatives to people who absolutely don't want to buy an Xbox.

Like I have no problem agreeing that writer at Kotaku is nothing short of terrible. They’re awful. But this isn’t the first rant we’ve gotten around lgbtq identity stuff. While the rant is ended with “we welcome everyone” it sometimes doesn’t feel that way. Mitch McConnell does not have a good gay rights voting record. And while that kotaku writer was speaking hyperbolically i feel like it’s wrong to get mad at that, but not also recognize Mitch does not share Last Stand Medias stance of “we welcome everyone.” He has stated openly he believes in “traditional marriage,” he’s voted against employment protections, voted against repealing don’t ask dont tell. Etc. Like he is not welcoming of gay people and that should be acknowledged if we’re gonna have this type of conversation.

Playstations are like PCs at this point- there IS a reason to own a PS5 if you're interested in playing games at max settings with fast loading. When I upgraded my graphics card in my PC a while back I wasn't like "aw man there was no reason to do that I could have played the same games in my old graphics card". The games are markedly better on the new one I don't get the whole "there's no reason to own a PS5 right now" thing. You're experiencing the games at max settings with non-existent load times.

In a world fueled by virtue signaling and diversity for the sake of diversity, can we honestly believe that these tokenizations are based purely on acting chops and merit??? Add in the fact that Hollywoke* is crumbling and many in charge of adaptations either don’t care about source material or are completely oblivious to it. I just wanna add something to the discussion about Pete Hines. Chris talked about how the Sony fanbase had a negative reaction to the starfield exclusivity. We need to remember that most of the people complaining online are part of the vocal minority. I've seen something similar when articles broke about the hate that Alanah Pierce received online because of the God of war delay. One of those articles was saying that the gaming community was harassing Alanah when in reality it was just the vocal minority that was complaining and harassing her.

I unsubscribed from Sterling last year, and the little I've seen from last week's Jimquisition centered around the situation makes me glad I did. Not even 5 minutes into it and Sterling makes a visual association between Christians and the fucking KKK. Like...what the hell...

The only game to make me actually cry and not just well up but like tears streaming down my face was the High Honour ending for RDR2 before the start of the epilogue. Arthur's story was phenomenal and the High Honour ending was just picture perfect to me. I very much doubt I'll ever be moved that much by a game again. P.S. Per the Xbox Series S topic: I pre-ordered a Series S knowing full well I would get the PS5 too ASAP. I bought it as my first Xbox console ever bc I wanted to try out Game Pass and some exclusives I’d missed out on without breaking the bank. I’d thought the weaker performance would be fine, but the more I play with the bells and whistles of the PS5 (ray tracing, 60 FPS, etc.) the more I want to upgrade to the powerful Series X when they’re readily available. As a “PS Fanboy” annoyed about the Bethesda acquisition, it’s more about losing access to DOOM, Wolfenstein, Elder Scrolls and Fallout after having access to it for years. Keep your Redfalls, Preys, and even Starfields. I have loved Dishonored and Rage franchises but they can go be on Microsoft. But DOOM is a cornerstone in gaming its the origin story of the FPS, Fallout and ES are THE Western RPG to play for years. I’ll take my PlayStation exclusives because it feels like it rewards the people in the ecosystem for years. Microsoft is a mega Corp blinded by the all mighty dollar and rips the rug out from others. Starfield was announced for PS5 back on october/november. Not only that, Bethesda talked about how happy they were in working with the console and how amazing Starfield was gonna run on it (this also contradicts Todd Howard and his recent comments about how it's better for their games to be out of the PS platforms). Some of their employees went on a tweet parade. I remember seeing that and feeling great as a Bethesda fan. I preordered my PS5 on my local Best Buy, and then like a week later found out that Microsoft bought ZeniMax. Tweets were gone.

honestly Chris didn't even need to stop at the Skyrim on PS3 example. even with the special Edition today, Xbox and PC are still the best places to play that game because of how Sony restricted modding capabilities for that game.

I'm in the minority, but I really enjoyed Stranger of Paradise. Plus playing with the Japanese voices is much better than the English voices. As for Chris' comment about the character's clothing, that becomes a non-issue since new gear changes the character's appearance. Its still in its early stages, but I liked the MP system in the demo and it definitely feels more like Nioh than Dark Souls.

Not available on other consoles until one year after release date."
