My inquiry will probably not be included, but i just wanted to say my expierience with this game over the years. As a super fan of the original metal gear(and since then it is my favorite series of all time and specifically number one is my favorite game of all time) i was so so soooooo hype for part 2. I was so ready for another snake adventure and when the big twist happens and you switch to raiden, i instantly hated the game(at least in my head). I beat the game and it was great, but the snake switcheroo really left a bad taste in my mouth. I played the game a ton still as it was super fun to play but didnt care for the story. Years and years later after completely forgetting about it, and thinking that just about everybody had the same thoughts as me that the ga.e was srill good but the worst metal gear overall, i hear guys like you and others say its the best in the series and some best game of all time. I thought how crazy a statement and dismissed it, until pretty recently i watched a stream of a full playthrough of the game and expierienced it again in years, and my god has there been a more poignant story of a game or movie or anything that hjts so hard to todays world. Kojima is a fucking prophet as far as my mind goes, and its sad to hear that he slipped into deep depression after the feedback of this game. While i still think this is one of the weaker entries in the series, i think of this game as a 9.5 out of 10 which tells you what i think of the other core games minus 5. So much i want to bring up still like how rose, who in my mind at the time was the worst character in the history of anything, it really went way over my head how brilliant her character really is. Sorry for this long message but there is no other game/movie/anything that has flipped in my mind in quality so so much. Thanks for your guys time and great content!!

2021-08-04 17:40:26 +0000 UTCI find 3 and 4 to be the more “what the hell is even going on games”. Kojima does have a terrible habit of that. Remakes are so appetizing because a studio (bluepoint *cough*) could remove some of that garbage but hopefully retain the feeling/mood/etc. of the game. Problem with that is that MGS 1 and 2 would be 4 hour games a piece haha.

2021-07-04 14:43:59 +0000 UTCHello Sirs! I have been a big fan of MGS since 1999. When MGS 2 came out I couldn't play it because I had yet to own a PS2. In 2002 when I finally played it, I really enjoyed it but I had some trouble following the story. Out of all of the MGS games stories, to me, this one is the most confusing and convoluted. I think Kojima has this habit of telling really strange and convoluted stories that are difficult to follow, and this one takes the cake. What do you guys think?

2021-07-04 02:06:24 +0000 UTCHey guuuuuyyys. I remember fondly playing the first few moment of mgs 2 and how it completely cracked open the ps2 as a next gen console at the time. Whether it be smoothly rendered character models, magazines bursting into shreds, or watching an individual ice bucket pop into the air when shot! ( the ice even melted on the floor after a bit!) I couldn’t believe how finely detailed so many minor experiences were! I love and will always cherish my original copy of this game! Also dog tags. Please keep up the great work and be well.
2021-07-02 18:20:19 +0000 UTCEvening fellas, hope all is well! MGS is my favorite gaming series and they each hold a special place in my heart but one thing that stands out for me the most in 2 was it’s map. Big shell may be my favorite setting or “map” per se in the franchise. I have fond memories running around from shell to shell and can still hear those damn seagulls in my head. I was wondering what are your thoughts on the map as a whole? Thanks and take care, Cisco

2021-07-02 14:03:12 +0000 UTCD&C, What do you two dudes think of the ending? For me it's one of the most ambitious and poignant moments in all of gaming. Snake's (Kojimas) sermon on the nature of existence and the passing on of culture and ideas through art is so expertly written and prophetic that it reminds me more of the end of a Nabakov novel than a game. "We need to pass the torch, and let our children read our messy and sad history by its light." Just incredible.

2021-07-02 14:02:20 +0000 UTCHey boys, What a special game this is. I played it around 12 years old after being exposed to snake in smash brawl and it was really my first "adult" game that explored thought provoking themes. I just finished replaying it on Vita for what is likely my 10th time and while I enjoyed it, I don't think the gameplay holds up too well. The funky controls of FPS mode and the extremely long stretches of codec + cutscenes made it feel very slow. While others say mgs2 is their favorite I would say it's near the bottom of the list for metal gear games, MGS3 being my favorite. Still, it holds a nostalgic place in my heart and it's ridiculous quotes like "what are you doing!?! What is THIS!" and "I need scissors 61!" Still echo in my head. It's also insane how ahead of his time Kojima was exploring the age of a digital takeover of AI and control of information, something that is a scary reality in 2021. Seems like he really pulled a star trek and predicted the future 20 years ahead. What did you two think of it's modern parallels of digital revolution. The game really is a warning sign come reality. P.S. Dagan, what did you think about running around with naked, junk covering, Raiden cartwheeling around arsenal gear?

2021-07-02 13:14:20 +0000 UTCHey Super Moriarty Bros, as someone who has never played the MGS franchise apart from a few hours with MGS:V (Which i enjoyed playing but had no idea what was happening in the plot). I've heard many people consider MGS 2 to be their favourite in the series. Is this beloved gem as good as you remember and how does it stack up to the likes other classic stealth games like Splintercell.
2021-07-02 12:37:42 +0000 UTCHey guys, I suppose the most pertinent thing to discuss about MGS2 is just how much of a prophet Kojima and Fukushima turned out to be. The uncontrolled flow of information, the formation of echo chambers so people could retreat from the discomfort of dissenting opinions, algorithms for controlling content on social media, the changing of facts to promote the “proper” context… it’s actually kinda shocking just how on-the-nose this all is. Hope you guys are well!

2021-07-02 12:23:03 +0000 UTCHey Obi Cum Kenobi and Qui Gon Jizz, Is it just me or has this game aged like fine wine? I think it's more playable today than most PS2-era games and the story seems more resonant than ever and almost scarily accurate with its themes of information control. More importantly, we're now far removed enough to actually appreciate Raiden as opposed to childishly bitching that he ain't Snake. I replayed it recently and it's the most I've ever enjoyed it. Wondered if it was the same for you two hunks? Cheers

2021-07-01 17:45:55 +0000 UTCHello M Bros! MGS2 is one of my favorites of all time. So many memories with that game and nostalgia for me. When I was younger I played MGS2 because the gameplay was fun. Now that I’m older I’m playing these games again to Platinum them and to actually understand the story and the politics of it. Do you guys like the political stuff this one had? For example Sergei Gurlukovich saying US weapons are Russian made therefore Metal Gear Ray is Russian. I think this one has the best politics of all the others. What do you guys think? Love y’all!

2021-07-01 17:16:45 +0000 UTC[Aux CALL] Moriarty Brothers, can you hear me? Did you notice and appreciate the incredible detail that was put into this 2001 gem at the time when you played it? How many hours did we all spend shooting glass bottles or fruit, holding up guards for ammo/dog tags, tranquilizing seagulls or watching ice MELT! This game is a testament to giving the people what they didn’t even know they wanted. It helped change the gaming culture. Good luck with the rest of your Knockback mission. Barrett Out. [End CALL]

2021-07-01 17:03:42 +0000 UTCHeyyy you guyyyyys. Did either of you purchase Zone of Enders, just to play the pack-in MGS2 demo? I did and don't regret it for a second, both ZOE & that demo were awesome... just like the pair of you :)
2021-07-01 16:10:11 +0000 UTCI recently suggested my 16 year old son play this game about 6 months ago. Kojima predicted a lot of what is going on in the world today in this game. Also with Biden constantly saying he is going to get in trouble for talking about certain things I think GW and the LaLeLouLeLo is really in power
2021-07-01 14:49:33 +0000 UTCHey Brothas M! So, MGS2 is a game I only appreciated AFTER I finished it. I felt like the story was convoluted and the gameplay wasn’t nearly as fun as MGS1. It obviously had the same basics, but it felt much slower to me. It wasn’t until I beat it and spent hours online reading up on the lore, real world parallels to theme of false realities and expectations tying in with Kojimas false advertising of Snake being the main protagonist that I really felt like this game was genius. My question is, after finishing this game this first time, did you “get” it and love it immediately? Or was it a slow burn? Colin you were a teenager when this game came out and I’d find it pretty impressive if you understood everything it was saying. PS Dagan is the best big bro ever
Dylan Michael
2021-07-01 14:29:26 +0000 UTCHello Brothers Moriarty, MGS2 is notorious for the playable character switcheroo of Snake to Raiden. Would the game have gotten as much criticism from fans if the last section of the game allowed you to go back to playing as Snake (ala Last of Us 2 where it goes from Ellie to Abby and then back to Ellie to finish the game)? PS, very fitting to be releasing this episode on Independence Day weekend. #SolidusWasRight

2021-07-01 13:52:50 +0000 UTCHello Lords of M! Was this game in 2001 the most ‘next gen’ experience to hit the PS2 to date? The console was still very new and I was absolutely stunned when I saw this game. I hadn’t gotten my PS2 quite yet and it immediately made me request an upgrade from my PS1. I was merely a child though, so some I out from y’all would be great! Thanks.

2021-07-01 13:33:33 +0000 UTCHello boys, This entry continues the trend of memorable villains and my favorite cast of characters in the entire series. My question is simple, which villain is your favorite? Mine is Fat Man, the roller skates the umbrella drink and the interesting mechanic of diffusing the C4 during the fight all made for a memorable experience.
Jacob Childers
2021-07-01 13:07:38 +0000 UTCHey C&D I’ll keep this short and sweet, Raiden or Snake? Who do you prefer as a protagonist? I honestly find it hard to chose. Thanks for all the great content you guys continually pump out!

2021-07-01 13:01:32 +0000 UTCDid you say Nerd?
2021-07-01 12:53:11 +0000 UTCWhile I prefer MGS1, 3, and V (1 is my personal favorite game ever and I view 3 as the greatest game ever made), 2 still holds a special place in my heart. It was such an incredible technological marvel at the time it came out, so much further ahead than anything prior. Like many I purchased Zone of the Enders merely for the MGS2 demo and my goodness did it ever blow me away. One of my best friends and I sat watching ice melt for what felt like hours in the dining hall after you shoot the ice bucket and were just completely blown away. While not a big deal today, that and so many other things in this game were such incredible leaps from what had come before that it was truly mind boggling.
2021-07-01 11:47:59 +0000 UTCThe Vita version plays exceptionally well IMO. That collection is fantastic
2021-07-01 11:38:46 +0000 UTCFat man. No more is necessary.

2021-07-01 10:09:27 +0000 UTCHello the Brothers Moriarty, whilst MGS2 has many compelling ideas that seem to become more and more relevant with age, how do you guys feel about the ways in which these ideas and the story are told? No matter how much I like the content I can't help but feel a little exhausted at the pacing, where it feels like I'm playing for 30 seconds before being hit with minutes, upon minutes of codec calls and cutscenes. Is there a way for this story to have been told without the dedication to so many passive storytelling methods? I often feel like I'm watching this Game as much as I'm playing it. regards from the UK!
Keith Golfer
2021-07-01 10:06:05 +0000 UTCHey gents - kept you waiting, huh? I'd love to know your thoughts on the relationship between Jack (Raiden) and Rose. I can't speak for anyone else, but this is the one aspect of the game that just felt exasperating; can I not just save my game without Raiden being interrogated on his recollection of their relationship?! Anyway, keep up the good work, guys.
2021-07-01 09:56:40 +0000 UTCI’d like for you guys to talk about the meta narrative in MGS2. Mainly with regards to the era of information, censorship and control. Or as the GW AI would refer to as “creating context” .

2021-07-01 08:17:39 +0000 UTCHey CD! This is the first Ps2 game I ever played and the first game I ever completed. With critical acclaim and a 96 on Metacritic, it's easy to see why this game is an all time favorite. Colin, can you recall your first impressions of MGS2? My brother and I played in awe watching the opening scene- realistic rain bouncing off Snake's jacket, the music getting more and more intense before snake tosses his cigarette and jumps off the Washington Bridge with his stealth suit on in pure badass fashion. Metal Gear is a series I revisit often and am glad you two are continuing on with the franchise. Thanks for all you do! Much love from Slippery Rock, PA.

2021-07-01 05:05:23 +0000 UTCHey guuuuyyss, Just wanted to quickly ask if you gents had any favorite quotes from the game? For me, it’s “Did you say, — nerd?!” Or, “Colonel, we’ve managed to avoid drowning!” The delivery of theses lines are incredibly campy and I love Quinton Flynn’s performance. There are of course many more but let’s hear some of yours please! Thanks for the joy you two bring to my ears!
9-11 is a reference to MGS 2
2021-07-01 04:43:40 +0000 UTCWhat makes MGS2 better than 1? It playing snake was sad for me back in the day, but I think the plot twist ages well.

2021-07-01 03:28:11 +0000 UTCWho was the better surprise character, Raiden or Abby?
Michael Buffill
2021-07-01 03:01:31 +0000 UTCI remember playing MGS2 really late at night in college and when Colonel Campbell went nuts I thought I was losing it "I need scissors 61!" What were your thoughts when that happened?

2021-07-01 02:45:32 +0000 UTCSo does metal gear solid 2 have the greatest bait and switch with the main protagonist in video game history? Leading up to this game I remember playing a demo and believing i was going to be snake for the entire game. I also don’t remember any magazine or article at the time saying any different as well. I personally did not mind the switch as it is a great game regardless. However I do believe it is the weakest of the first 3 games. How surprised were you with the switch and looking back in hindsight 20 years later was it the right move to do? Thanks for the continued awesome content guys y’all are the best.
2021-07-01 01:32:59 +0000 UTCHey double C’s and big fat D. Did you guys ever find in the third act of the game somewhat creepy? When Colonel starts talking gibberish and Raiden’s supposed wife was just an AI of Arsenal Gear(was it called that?) was really creepy to me when I originally played the game more than a decade ago. To know that an artificial intelligence can completely give out orders and do small talk with you through an entire adventure was just creepy altogether for me. What did you guys think?
Tacoyaki
2021-07-01 00:52:36 +0000 UTCThoughts on the interview with Agness Kaku (the translator for MGS2) that Hardcore Gaming did?
2021-06-30 23:59:56 +0000 UTCWhat is your opinion on Kojima's ability to be prophetic in essentially predicting the overload of digital information, memes and internet culture and the pervasive attempts of shady organisations that seek control the digital flow of information? Solidus is going after unelected and an unknown organisation that seeks to control everything. We succeed with Raiden and essentially condemn humanity to the same cycle of oppression. Would you vote for Solidus 2024?
Liammy
2021-06-30 23:45:16 +0000 UTCHey guys, Vamp or Alucard, who’s the sexiest bloodsucker?

2021-06-30 23:19:14 +0000 UTCHello gentlemen, What's the deal with the roach running out from Pliskin's crotch? Can either of you relate to housing insects in your crevices? A very serious question.
2021-06-30 23:13:38 +0000 UTCFinally, we get to hear Colin gush about Fatman. The music in this one is immediately recognizable, with the likes of Yell Deadcell. Probably one of my favorite mechanics that I didn't realize the first time playing involved the hanging feature, which you could strengthen with pull ups. Were there any mechanics that eluded you your first time through?

2021-06-30 21:20:05 +0000 UTCHey guys, I’m super excited to hear your opinions on this amazing game in an amazing franchise. My question is regarding the infamous plot twist where you play the game as raiden despite the marketing make it seem as though you played as solid snake. When this first happened at the games launch, what was your reaction?
Hunter Murphy
2021-06-30 20:59:59 +0000 UTCMan oh man what a game this is. I am a huge MGS fan (I have a psycho mantis tattoo on my forearm). While this is not my favorite game in the series, it is certainly the most interesting and profound. This game really made me question reality and what it means. Did it have the same impact on you? Is it possible to walk away from this game and not just sit there in silence with your thoughts? Great show guys!

2021-06-30 20:45:01 +0000 UTCI just want to say, if either of the moriarty brothers reads this. Please don't play the vita version, because it sucks. Play the ps3 or 360 version; it's so much better.
TROTMAC96
2021-06-30 20:27:45 +0000 UTCI love the vita. But it isn't the definitive version of mgs2 and 3 imo. The finicky touch controls, along with the long load times and how much of a pain in the arse it is to aim in first-person. Definetly play these games on either ps3 or 360.
TROTMAC96
2021-06-30 20:22:12 +0000 UTCI remember skipping the Islamic Eid prayers and festivals just to complete this game in the early morning in 2001. Amazing game. Good year for gaming releases.

2021-06-30 19:55:56 +0000 UTCHeeeey guys, MGS 2 is still one of my favourite games of all time. But at the time I remember being pissed at the switch to Raiden after the intro sequence. After MGS 1 being the game that introduced me to the fact video games could be more than just a fun distraction, I was pumped when the second game came out. How did you find the bait and switch with the characters?
2021-06-30 19:44:21 +0000 UTCHEYYY GUUUUUUYS!!! I remember picking this gem of a game up in a Game Crazy which was adjacent to Hollywood video. I knew nothing about this game since I was just maybe 13 years old when picking it up in 2004. It was on sale and had a interesting box cover. But man…..my little young mind couldn’t figure out how to even start the game (press O, not X) and when I did manage to start it, I was invested and had probably the best summer replaying this game over and over. Then when I discovered part 3 was coming later in the year, I had to get it Day 1. To this day, easily in my top 5 favorite video game series of all time and currently working on a tattoo to include it into my “pop culture” theme sleeve on my right arm. Good day, gents!! Lots of love.

2021-06-30 19:42:52 +0000 UTCHey, Colin and Dagan - What was your favorite boss fight in MGS2? Most would mention Fatman, Vamp and MG Ray as the standouts, but the presentation and urgency of the Olga fight in the Tanker was memorable as well.
2021-06-30 19:39:12 +0000 UTCDear Moriarty Men, I remember going into an EB games around 2006 to purchase a copy of Sons of Liberty. I asked the man behind the counter if they had a copy and what he said after has stuck with me forever. He yelled "Why are you looking for that game? It's older than you! Check the bin out front." I'm embarrassed to admit that I still think about that time often and I hope that man has fallen in hard times. Anyway, I went to another store and had no problem finding a copy. What an all time classic!
Rob Kvasne
2021-06-30 19:36:51 +0000 UTCHey guys, how cool were the gang of villains in this game? Vamp, Fortune, and ofcourse Fatman! They all feel so iconic and so incredibly Kojima. This band of misfits really brings a levity and amount of fun that takes the very military reality sort of basis for the plot and makes it feel very supernatural in a way. Love this cast of villains and how much fun it adds to the game.
Ryan Harvey
2021-06-30 19:36:45 +0000 UTCHey Colin, Dagan Metal Gear Solid 2 is my favourite game ever, to the point I was doing trophy-like tasks such as collecting all dog tags on PS2. What I loved most about the game was the introspective nature of its ending. Who's telling the truth? Who's real and who's an AI? What is the purpose of life? My question is, despite being my favourite game, do you think Metal Gear Solid 2's happenings are essential to the overall Solid Snake / Big Boss overarching story? Games like 1, 3, 4 and Peace Walker get much more into the cruces of the plot and MGS2 has more of a spin-off feel to me.
Pedro Alves
2021-06-30 19:35:38 +0000 UTCHi Guys! **(Spoiler Alert for The Last of Us: Part II)** Raiden. I know this will inevitably be a major part of your discussion with MGS2. Personally, I remember being disappointed that I wasn't able to play for the majority of the game as Snake. It was probably because of the amazing demo on the boat that got me and everyone else hyped for the game. Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann has said in interviews that MGS2 is one of his favorite video games of all time and the influence it had on him is clear. That said, Neil has also said he wanted to change the formula though. In The Last of Us: Part II, the character shift between Ellie and Abby isn't as soon in the game and is roughly even in terms of play time across characters. The bigger change though--he brought Ellie back at the end of the game. I think that made all the difference for me and I enjoyed the game more because of Ellie's return. If you could, would you have brought Snake back in MGS2 as a playable character like TLOU2 or do you think the game is better switching permanently to Raiden? Thanks, Gents.
Mike LaValley
2021-06-30 19:25:19 +0000 UTCis MGS2 the definitive post-modern game? i know thats a broad term but i think the game fits perfectly into this turn-of-the-millennia narrative to comment on recent changes in technology and world events. the whole last third is this really sharp and prophetic commentary a decade before the topics discussed would be relevant. all in all a very special game and a definitive entry in the PS2 library
Jacob
2021-06-30 19:25:08 +0000 UTCGents, May we set the scene for this game's release? November 13th, just a few months after 9/11 and an odd time here in the states. Thematic elements from MGS2 felt slightly more resonant in the shadow of 9/11 than they would have otherwise. Moreover, it was just a couple weeks after GTA3 released and rocked the gaming world. This era will always feel like a special time in gaming for me, so much so that I did not go home from college for Thanksgiving that year because I was so enamored with MGS2 and GTA3 (sorry Mom). MGS2 is one of only a small handful of games that I immediately replayed after beating it, which is a testament to the game's quality for me. Clark Petri P.S. Would love to hear Colin's thoughts on the rather annoying Vita version's platinum trophy requirements
Clark Petri
2021-06-30 19:24:09 +0000 UTCI liked him as well. It's refreshing to see that "rookie" archetype combined with his overconfidence from VR training. Plus, seeing solid snake from a non protagonist perspective was really interesting

2021-06-30 19:23:37 +0000 UTCHello Brothers Moriarty, I'm putting myself through getting the Platinum for 2-4, and damn was 2's Platinum painful and forces you to become a master of everything mechanic in the game With the endless rumors of MGS1 getting a remake, and baseless speculation extending to remaking 2, I'm of the mind that the original mechanics shouldn't be touched considering the depth that's already there, and the only thing that can be changed is maybe changing some of the control schemes to simplify If MGS2 were to get remade, what changes would you wanna make or would it be along the lines of a SotC BluePoint job? Thanks, Edwin

2021-06-30 19:20:57 +0000 UTCFirst time, long time BEYOND! Whether you do an episode on MGS 3 or not, I’d love to have you guys compare the two on which you like more overall because I’ve always felt that 3 leaned way more on its gameplay where 2 was more story focused. I am in it for the story so 2 was always a more enjoyable experience for me with trying to break down all the lore in a fun, trying to figure out what’s going on, deep rabbit hole situation. Having played the whole series and going back to play 2, you really do see that you get a majority of its lore in 2. Dissecting Metal Gear Solid lore is super enjoyable for me and I have a ton of MGS 2 to thank for so much content. Kojima’s weirdness is why I love these games and 2 is one of his weirdest games, and I love it for that! PS: Keep doing your rebel thing! We’d much rather have a REAL Colin than a PR personality for merch tool. Genuineness will bring success that will continue to come your way! Love all you do!

2021-06-30 19:20:02 +0000 UTCGood afternoon (at the time of writing) Moriarty bros. Metal Gear Solid 2 is a narrative experience that will forever stand the test of time in the gaming world for both it's monumental (pun intended) story conclusion and for how the final codec call is now a grave premonition from Kojima of our current state as a society, pandemic and all (DEATH STRANDING!!!!) What were your initial reactions to the grand plot reveal of GW and the overall impact the A.I. had on the story and how much does it compare to our current society both pre and post pandemic? Really looking forward to this episode gents, love the work on Knockback, Sacred Symbols and Defining Duke and all Last Stand Media content -- keep up the great work to all members of the crew. Colin will you be attending Isles games at UBS Arena next season? RIP Nassau Coliseum the spirit of fortneverlose lives on.

2021-06-30 19:18:34 +0000 UTCI described the ending of this game to an older coworker of mine recently and realized how nuts it is. You and a cybernetically enhanced former President have a sword fight on top of Federal Hall. 😂

2021-06-30 19:17:13 +0000 UTCAm I the only one who actually LOVED Raiden? I thought he was a cool addition, and his role in Metal Gear Solid 4 was absolutely epic. I never understood why everybody wanted all protagonists to be Solid Snake/Cloud Strife-like heroes back then, and appreciated how different he was when compared to Snake. I also "liked" Tidus from Final Fantasy X for breaking the mold and being a whiney little bitch, but that's for another day and another topic.

2021-06-30 19:13:03 +0000 UTCWhat’s up Col and Dagan. Fatman. Quite possibly the most hilarious villain ever to grace my screen. An overweight, roller blading bomb planting Genius. I will never forget my brother and I laughing endlessly when he hit the brakes on those blades at the start of the cutscene. Love the show and shows, keep up the ASTONISHING work!

2021-06-30 19:12:43 +0000 UTCWhat’s up Moriarty bros, Kojima often mentions how 9/11 changed the entertainment industry and this game. Is there anything that stood out to you two while playing this that could give us some idea of what he means by this? One moment that sticks out to me in particular is the codek conversation between Raiden, The fake colonel, and the fake Rose, where they talk about online conversations, the need for context, and the filtering of garbage information. This conversation struck me as it reminded me of how toxic the media and online conversations have become. Kojima somehow predicted online discourse, and echo chamber mentality in 2001

2021-06-30 19:10:41 +0000 UTCMetal Gear Solid 2 is actually the first MGS game I played - and that was a mistake. I randomly picked it up from Blockbuster at some point in my teenage years, and while I didn't hate it - it was a bit much to randomly jump into blind haha. It was so weird, and the controls were very off-putting. I beat the boat prologue area, but that's it. Then, about a decade later, I finally played through it in full after MGS4 & Portable Ops got me hooked on MGS....and I think I like it as much as MGS3. It's story was just so cool, and the Metal Gear Raven fight was INSANE. (I remember thinking - I am not really gonna fight all of those in the background....right?)

2021-06-30 19:10:23 +0000 UTCHey boys, Sons of Liberty exists in a rare echelon of games: those that make me question and ponder the world around me. Its theme of reality’s relativism and deception really unfold in its latter half, when the game frankly goes bonkers. Naked Raiden is the least concerning segment in comparison to those creepy codex calls and that random video of a Japanese woman popping up. How much did this game get you to question our perception of reality, and are you now convinced that we live in a simulation? Side note, I feel a weird parallel between this game and the last of us part II, but that conversation is for another time

2021-06-30 19:09:56 +0000 UTCHello there Brothers of Destruction! Gonna keep this one simple and very unoriginal. What do you both make of the shift in playable characters just a few hours in? Miss Snake or did you love Raiden? Personally I never minded it. Oh and if you are playing on PS Now don’t try and go for the platinum as it’s impossible to hold up enemies with an AR. I learned this the hard way!

2021-06-30 19:09:51 +0000 UTCColin, this is barely a question, but you've long been a fan of Fatman. For those that don't know your fandom, please explain to them (and me) why that is again (?)
2021-06-30 19:09:09 +0000 UTCWhat’s up fellas, MSG 2 sons of liberty is a top 10 game for me all time, though it is one I haven’t played in quite sometime. I was younger as well when I played it (I’m 28 years old) and so nostalgia has certainly overshadowed any true critique of the game I could give it. My question is for it’s time was this as groundbreaking as I remember? Was the Protagonist switch up the craziest moment or was there something else that stood out for you guys? Appreciate you as always! PS

2021-06-30 19:08:50 +0000 UTCHey Boys, How did you interpret the ending of MGS2? Is it supposed to be taken literally or metaphorically? My take was that the whole game was a simulation. Additionally, Raiden rejects the player’s input at the end by throwing away his dog tags. Fun fact, the dog tags will show the name you entered at the beginning of the game. Thanks!

2021-06-30 19:08:50 +0000 UTCWhat’s up Brothers Moriarty? Really I just can’t wait to hear you talk through how Kojima really predicted the future state of the world in this game. We are living in the age of digital misinformation, from “fake news” to deep-fakes, it’s really remarkable to look back on MGS2 in the context of today’s society. He who controls the flow of digital information, controls the world. Thanks guys!

2021-06-30 19:07:08 +0000 UTCDo either of you agree with Chris Ray Gun's notion that the Vita port is the definitive version?

2021-06-30 19:05:21 +0000 UTCHey Big Daddy C and D, though metal gear solid included a unique cast of characters in its own right, MGS2’s unique and downright bizarre rogues gallery (I’m looking at you fat man and vamp) are in my opinion the best in the series. What were your favorite boss designs or encounters in the game?
