As I did back in early June, I (Colin) sat down in front of the mic to take your questions, comments, concerns, thoughts, and ideas, live on the air with no notes and no preparation. Not surprisingly, the conversations are wide-ranging. What do I think of the debate around 'game difficulty' in the industry? What happened between Giant Bomb and Nextlander? Could Microsoft's acquisitions strategy backfire? Is there a bad game that still has exemplary mechanics? What's the deal with this Nickelodeon brawler? We touch on all of those topics and others. Just wanted to throw out there Star Ocean 2 for the Playstation has the best cooking mini game in the second half of the game that iv ever played. Pretty much mimics Iron Chef with a main ingredient then you battle it out in the kitchen!!

2021-07-30 23:00:41 +0000 UTCthe call about difficulty - one thing the caller said sounded kind of weird i think it was something like - paraphrasing - "games like sekiro and returnal would suffer if there were difficulty settings to choose from" - To me, this just sounds like you want fewer people to play the game you like. But then he said something really really good , which was, (again paraphrasing) - "I wish the devs would always specify which of these difficulty settings they INTEND for me to play, so that the game is balanced. Example - Jedi fallen order is way too hard on the insane difficulty, and Halo is designed to be played on Heroic." I thought this point was spot on. Why can't we have both? Give easy modes for casuals and game reviewers, whatever, but also make sure to say, "This game is NOT BALANCED on this easy setting. The Intended Mode is X."

They even signed off their podcast with “Free Hong Kong” a couple times, and jokingly compare their President with Winnie the Pooh a lot. But yeah besides you and them I don’t see anyone critical of China and that’s pretty worrisome.
