Such a fucking good show. I was really surprised by how hilarious this show was. I love how real it all felt too. This might just be the most un politically correct but also most honest show I’ve ever seen about the military.

I'm just pleased that I enjoyed the show more this go-around than the first. Not entirely sure what I was thinking there.

Glad you covered this mini-series. I have seen it twice over the years and have the bluray and am looking at it for another rewatch. It doesn't need much prompting. I like this one more than Band Of Brothers to be honest. I find soldiers in a compromised war to be a more interesting set-up. The odd thing about the Iraq war from the UK perspective is that a huge number of people from a variety of political views opposed it and said Iraq was an uncontrollable collection of warring interests and that getting rid of Saddam would lead to the mess that occurred later but the Labour government ignored them (the fallout from this ate away at them and destroyed them years later). It's interesting how the UK and US went in to Iraq but their populations had very different perspectives on the war.

I'm glad you enjoyed our talk. Thank you for listening. =)

Very much enjoyed the conversation you and Dagan had regarding Generation Kill. I've read Evan Wright's book as well and I appreciated how much they stayed true to his work in the miniseries. I don't know if you & Dagan noticed but Wright's never referenced by name in the show...always called "The Reporter" or "Reporter." I found that really interesting. I had several family members and friends, including my husband, serve in Iraq. My cousin Josh, in particular, was a surgical nurse and was even seen in the last segment of the HBO special Baghdad ER. My husband was a member of the National Guard and was a gunner on the Humvee column that went out to protect the medical team. So watching Generation Kill and reading the book added to what I had already heard from them.

Interesting. =)

When I went to Jump School Sgt Colbert (Iceman and a MSgt by then) was the head for the Marine Liaison.

Thanks for listening. =)

Having served in the Marines there is so much truth to be found in every scene. From gear used in Vietnam to horrible leadership. I will say, that when it comes to spending no one does it better than the military. We had radios that were used by my grandfather yet we could spend $40 on a pair of scissors. Can't wait for y'alls next military content!

Thank you! I agree: There's a ton of texture here just from the years moving on...
