Sacred Symbols+, Episode 119: 24 Questions With Colin (Video)

It's me, Colin! I don't get a chance to talk to you one-on-one as much as I'd like, and while we're trying to remedy that with call-in episodes of +, I thought maybe it was time to go back to the text mailbag, to be more inclusive to more people who may not wanna chat on audio. So let's jump right in, shall we? I delve into 24 separate lines of inquiry from 24 members of Last Stand's audience, ranging on topics like Sony's commitment (or lack thereof) to modern Japanese development, playing old Silent Hill games in 2021, cleaning up Trophies years after first playing a game, what makes JRPGs so special to me (but what also keeps them in the periphery of the industry), Sony's years-long quest for a new FPS franchise, whether it's yet truly worth upgrading to PlayStation 5, and so much more. Thank you, as always, for submitting your questions, comments, concerns, thoughts, and ideas. I hope you enjoy.

Loved this one, Colin. Great array of questions throughout.

I agree, Colin. The Bouncer was vastly overlooked at the time.

Greg Shapiro

CyberPunk was just bought cause it was sold to PC nerds as Spec-Breaker. You can sell em poop simulator as long as you promise it's gonna challenge their PCs to run at highest quadrulents #lames

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words, but I could write an entire thesis on that thumbnail.

Caleb Greer

Always great content Colin your show gets me through my long shifts at work proud too be a god tier patreon you guys deserve it 👏

ScottyG82

True, it's just nowhere near as prevalent now, and with how digital Games are now devs often get additional info from users such as time played and whatnot. We'll never have accurate information for those generations on those specific sets of data.

Kam Wallis

Yeah, I personally enjoy both formats. =)

Colin Moriarty

Killzone seems to be a logical place to go.

Colin Moriarty

That's true, but people still rent games today!

Colin Moriarty

LOL.

Colin Moriarty

Enjoy!

Colin Moriarty

That's me tending to my Joes.

Colin Moriarty

Maybe both.

Colin Moriarty

Great episode! I definitely enjoy the call in shows but love that you guys aren't going away from mailbag episodes. Some of us, like myself, listen or watch your content while at work so call ins aren't much of an option. Keep up the great work, Colin!

Cody Richter

I wonder if an Infamous tactical game would work. If not then Resistance for sure would

Kenneth Oms

I was expecting him doing call ins while working on his GI Joes

KomakiKhaos

Love the thumbnail! I will start listening on my way home from work 😁

Julian Woodrum

I do have one problem with your theory about factoring just sales into potential remakes like Silent Hill and other franchises. Many people forget how prevalent the rental industry was during the PS1 and PS2 era. I never played the games myself, and don't count myself in the hype group, but I know several friends that played the series through rentals. I have experienced many other series in similar ways on those generations as well.

Kam Wallis

Cleaning his G.I. Joes

Craig Hooligan

What are you doing in the thumbnail Colin?

Josef Barker

LOL that thumbnail Can't tell if you are cleaning GI Joes or Cooking some sort of illegal substance lmao. Cheers :D :D
