Constellation, Episode 55 | Thrifting, Brand Loyalty, Legends, UAP Update
Added 2024-01-22 17:00:14 +0000 UTC
It's time for more Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, the Brothers Moriarty are joined by Defining Duke co-host MrMattyPlays and storied game designer David Jaffe. We begin our lengthy chat with a topic that's grown increasingly popular in recent years: Thrifting. Matty has found great value in buying secondhand, and wonders if we've had similar experiences. Colin, meanwhile, wants to delve into our respective brand loyalties -- not the obvious ones! -- but rather some of the automatic brand purchases we make without even thinking about it, from toiletries to clothing and beyond. Dagan harkens back to his earlier days to remember some legends from his youth, stories, people, and events that are almost always heavily-fictionalized if not outright fake, yet persist over the generations. Finally, Jaffe returns to a well-worn and host-favorite topic here on Constellation, and that's UAPs. Recent Congressional hearings, a mysterious new video, and the promise of more to come leaves us with plenty to digest.

Jaffe needs the red zone channel. No commercials and you get to see multiple games at once. They bounce between all the games and show the exciting segments

Head & Shoulders shampoo doesn't really "cure" or remove dandruff; all it does is put a coating of shellac on your scalp so that the dandruff can no longer flake off. I nixed that shit from my life eons ago once I found that out.

Toyota for cars, Costco for gas, Vuori for athletic/leisure wear, modern times for craft beer, Crystal Geyser for water (1 gallon bottles), Samsung for TVs, Bose or JBL for sound systems or headphones.

I grew up around the world traveling, I find it odd that a rumor about the rapper lil Kim where she had to get her stomach pumped from swallowing too much semen sprad to many places I been.
Also I LOVE the alien/UFO topic squeezed in the end. It is very fascinating.

Mouth wash with alcohol is actually bad for your gums. It causes recession and bleeding. I switched to Act mouthwash which has no alcohol, and it’s fantastic.
Also, because no one asked, Coke is superior to any other cola, especially Diet Coke. The worst question is “is Pepsi okay?”

Not sure if I said it here or elsewhere but when you guys brought up the legends portion, there was a girl that I went to school with that drunkenly “used” some kielbasa and oddly enough at another time ..apparently spoons.. I used to sit with her on lunch in the library because we had that option to either have lunch in the cafeteria or take a study in the library.. yeah we used to sit together, having had heard it weeks prior, I had to ask her just to get it out-of-the-way.. probably shouldn’t have because I think it damaged any kind of friendship we may have had, as she confirmed both situations had occurred and that she was really drunk when she did it, it seemed very shameful to her… we rarely sat together after that for the remaining portion of that quarter, but we still talked a little bit.. later on about a few years after high school, she ended up dating one of my friends, to which he couldn’t believe any of the stories, but he had heard of them.. and I honestly didn’t want to break his heart since he seemed to care for her, even though that was short-lived.
I had seen her at one of the local bars of about 10 years ago, and she seemed to be doing pretty well for herself.. as long as no one probably brings up the past.
The timing in high school may be off a little bit, but it was just so shocking to even think it was a thing.

Bro, there was this one kid in school that had the reputation across numerous towns of having fucked a dog. For years everyone knew this story . It was false

I grew up in Alabama - my mom told me a long time ago about the Catman Road in Gulf Shores. There were fireside stories told about a mysterious...well...Catman that would terrorize couples making out. It was a quiet side road in an unlit, marshy area. The cat man would lure one of the teens out of the car [insert horror exposition], then leave their head on top of the car for the other teen to find.

Mick West's video debunking the jellyfish is all you need. It's also extremely telling that the ONE part of the alleged video that would actually offer some form of compelling evidence (the part where it apparently goes into water) is of course the one part that we don't see and comes down to "trust me bro".
I agree the reports coming from the Pentagon are interesting and worthy of discussion. But these easily debunked videos gaining so much traction is what's making people shrug off the discussion as they can be explained with a 5 minute search but for some reason the guys over on r/UFO and similar places will do everything they can to keep those explanations away. Same with Gimbal.
I was also disappointed with Ancient Apocalypse. They guy offered zero evidence for his claims. In the first episode he even discussed that carbon dating the dig site suggested ancient construction. But carefully and quietly added that the materials they dated "could be used for construction". He was talking about rocks. He found some old rocks and said "you could use this for construction". There's barely anything to even debunk because he doesn't even offer anything to discuss.

Jaffe is a genius. I cannot miss an episode he is on. Constellation focuses him the perfect amount. He's one of the few voices I hear today that actually has a unique perspective. Thanks Jaffe

I couldn't tell if it was a tongue in cheek reference, but aliens/interdimensional beings watching earth as reality TV and freaking out when humans notice is a South Park episode from 2003 called Cancelled.

Yes! Snowblowers ARE in fact for pussies. The less physical work you do, the weaker you’re gonna get. Plus, I have the only NEAT sidewalk on the block, none of that lazy, single pass down the middle, layer on the bottom still shit.

Thrift stores and garage sales scare me ever since I watched the possession. Knowing me I’ll accidentally buy a dybbuk box 😩😆
