Defining Duke, Episode 168 | Xbox Is Making A Handheld...?

A new development kit has been certified for Xbox in South Korea! With leaks showing an all digital Series X on the way, this originally felt like a news story you brush by and not much else. That was the case until we learned a key bit of information that flipped the conversation on its head: This certification couldn't be for a digital Series X. So, what is it? The last certification seen for Xbox hardware was with the Series X around five months ahead of its launch. We know Sarah Bond recently stated that Xbox has committed to more hardware in the future. Could it finally be the Xbox handheld set to launch this holiday? Naturally, the Dukes are giddy about this concept and dive deep. We also lament the state that Battlefront Classic Collection has launched in, mull over the state of PocketPair, enjoy Xbox's 4D chess play with Sea Of Thieves newest SKUs, and dive into the latest changes at Bungie and Blizzard.

I've really been enjoying dd lately, I dunno! I feel like the energy is more positive, and the discussions more coherent than sacred symbols lately if I'm being honest, and this is coming from someone who generally preferred ss for a long time.

i might be a dumbass but i could not for the life of me figure out how to trigger the ending, so I did use a guide to just nudge me in the right direction and then I figured out the rest for myself.

Matty, I have some Outer Wilds tips for you. First of all, the controls are challenging but very intuitive. Don’t fight them! You have the keep the physics in mind always. Less is more, so play it safe while you learn. Also, always use the autopilot in space!!! Second of all, I have some advice for how to play the game in general. You said you’re frustrated with the lack of direction. Here is what you do: pick a thread in the journal and tug on it until you either solve it or hit a wall. At that point, pick a different thread to tug on and repeat the process. This is the best way to curb frustration and continue progressing naturally. Do not smash your head against a wall if you’re stuck on something, just move on! Lastly, I strongly encourage you to finish the game and don’t use any spoilers or guides. This game has a powerful message that I know will resonate with you on a deep and personal level. And the payoff at the end is fantastic. This is one of my favorite games ever and I think if you slow down and meet the game on its own terms, you will walk away adoring it. Good luck have fun!

Matty you are not alone in failing to see the awe and wonder of Outer Wilds. I gave it probably 10 hours of poking around, going to all the different planets, experimenting with all the puzzles, battling with the controls before I called it. Not spoiling anything here but I just went and ahead and spoiled the ending for myself. Essentially, the people that praise it as a masterpiece all hail a moment where things just "click" for them; like it's annoying until magically and suddenly you get to a point where it all comes together. For me, I just cut my losses and learned I'm just too dumb for the game. And I'm okay with that.

Mike Po

Are you ok?

Dhruv Gupta

Would love some Brad.

Definitely not pleasing fallout fans, a game played by like 90% males(mostly white btw), when they’re doing their typical “””gay””” Hollywood bullshit with the forced female main characters, the black brotherhood of steel character having an inner conflict surrounded by implied white bos soldiers who are also super religious. Just a total joke. They have an interest in loosely pleasing fans with fan service elements because they’re so addicted to consuming their favorite product. No interest in trying to actually do something for the fans. They just can’t stop. And people will trip over themselves to defend it

Haven’t seen the finale yet but S2 is better than S1 for sure. Eps 3 and 5 are skippable and I’d still say to only watch the fight scenes if the tv story doesn’t interest you.

Call the handheld the Duke

Joshua Brown

Right, the matty and cog dynamic is great to listen to.

Alexis

Praise the Xbox gods for we are blessed with a completely non sus thumbnail. 😇🫡

Mysterious (xo) Narrator

It's one thing if the artists themselves are actually worth anything but many of these showrunners have proven over and over again that they really aren't.

Cole Kinghorn

X-Pad? Too close? It almost names itself lol.

Michael Rogers

Idk, I say fuck the fans and trust the artists vision in regards to the fallout thing. Fans are kinda stupid anyway. They were mad over a women vault dweller lol.

Caleb Peacock

Halo season 2 is great if you don’t want to see any Spartans in armour 🫠 Another great episode boys ❤️ 10/10

Sir Poops McGuffin

lol this thumbnail is my new favorite

Ryan

My heart just dropped when you said Wilmington, NC. I can’t believe the legend was in my hometown! 😂😂

Dakota Ohmer

These DD podcasts have really been getting good lately. Like these episodes maybe even more than Sacred. Both are great. Keep it up!
