I don't think rebirth is more silly than Remake. I think Rebirth is a way bigger game and because it's way bigger you get more of everything. There's a lot more serious moments and funny moments. Also rebirth > FF7R in nearly every way. Such a love letter to FF7. Has issues no doubt but finally a modern FF that feels like the classic era FF's in terms of content and variety.

It's similar to comparing buying Cristiano Ronaldo in his 17s, to prices that teams need to spend now on "promising youngsters". It doesn't matter Sony doesn't want to play this game of partnering with "strangers" - their competitors do with ease.
