This was really good, struck a good balance I think.

Loved the episode, thanks guys. Colin, you're asking for some sort of evidence that ESG is involved, you can find almost all publicly traded gaming companies and their score on sustainalytics under "software & services", they also publish various reports, I remember reading a few from Activision/Blizzard (google "ESG report activision blizzard", I'm not sure I can post links here). Do you think they write these for no reason ? Or that they end up with an ESG score for no reason ?

Nihi

you've already wasted too much time and thought on this.

To Colin's point about advising companies to turn into the skid regarding traditional gaming websites, to look for the controversy and lean into it, I think that is simply brilliant. I had no idea Stellar Blade was so "controversial" until I listened to this episode. But when I played the demo last week, I did think, "Oh, this is not going to go over well in some corners of the internet." But I also think Stellar Blade will end up as one of PS5's top selling games of 2024. It's another Hogwarts Legacy situation. It's actually sad to watch the slow death of an entire industry. Their bubble, their echo chamber, is so insulating that they cannot see how outside they are; how isolated they have become. They're all yelling at each other while the world has moved on.

I'M HAPPY. thank you guys

Loved the Pod and it was a great balanced conversation from many perspectives. However, any time anyone says "White people... etc". I replace it with something else, black, asian, aboriginal... If it sounds racist then, it was racist when it was about the "Whites". "Ohhh but but the whItE inStitUtIoNal RacIsm is whAt wE meAn". Yeah, sure. We see the tweet history of these "Journalists" and "Community Managers". The piss is indeed not rain. It's become so predictable what the leftist worldview will say about things, and it's the kind of pure hypocrisy you get from a postmodern inversion of morality. Let's get Sweet Baby Detected to 1mil.

Great conversation from all, and of course, the comments were always gonna play out this way, but man, it's still surprising lmao bunch of crybabies.

bigafroman14

Good grief there are a ton of triggered black people in these comments. Get a grip.

Benjamin Nadeau

Good grief there are a ton of triggered white people in these comments. Get a grip.

PluuusRyan

Is this comment supposed to be satirical? It feels to non-self-aware otherwise.

PluuusRyan

Yes, those franchises have been completely beaten to death, they've oversaturated the market, the core creative elements they had have long since dissipated, and now they're used as a tool for fiduciary duty rather than creative exploration. Capitalism squeezed the life out of them, that's honestly all.

Diego Casillas

How can you have a conversation about race and racism when half the panel doesn't believe you can be racist towards white people? As a Korean American who grew up in Hawaii, Gene is the worst person at LSM. His view points are predictably radical left and you already know the trash that is going to come out of his mouth. No longer going to watch videos with Gene in them.

Sena

been waiting for this to get explained too in a normal manner

I think Jason is pretty closely aligned with the majority of Democrats

BigDumbStupidIdiot

Jason is actually the most sane Biden voter. He did great here

Everybody did a fantastic job this episode but I think Gene really stood out. It was nice to hear him speak about things like this especially after he was (understandably so) silent in the Political Constellation. Great job!

Diddy’s Dong Quest

It’s a Sony game, if it was third party of God forbid a Xbox game he would have a different stance, love the guy but he’s as predictable as they come lol.

One piece of feedback I would like to give about the episode is that it is one of the very few cases where the Golden Mean is achieved. Moderate dialogue will always reach closest to the truth of any matter. To be honest, this discussions reminds me why I am a bit fed up with debates. Don't get me wrong, I understand the reasoning behind a debate but in the modern-day culture it doesn't serve its original purpose anymore. It no longer reaches for the truth nor is it trying to change anyone's opinion. Only thing it achieves is to empower respective echo chambers on each side, thus inflating the problem even more instead of solving it. My only wish is that discussions like this could be found on more places. Maybe more exemplars could make the discussion healthier all around. Alas, the team at LSM remains the leading figure in such cases so it will hopefully be a spark of inspiration for even more discussions across the board. Keep it up! Great piece of content! - Dimitris

This stuff in media really doesn't bother me too much it just makes it easier to save money and be more picky about what I spend money on 🤷

People are trying to find scapegoats whether they are true or not. But SOMETHING is wrong. People are noticing that lots of things that shouldn't suck do suck now. Like how does Star Wars, Marvel, Indiana Jones all suck at the same time? Something is off and people want to know why.

Fat Lee Adama

they don’t have power. it’s crazy you insist on this when there is no evidence.

Gene Park

“Sweet baby has no power” is gaslighting and it’s getting really old

Brandon V

i didn’t need anyone to do any comms work for white people because the entire staff was white. get that thru your skull mate.

Gene Park

1:14:30 What Gene described here is essentially doing PR work for a race. White people are not allowed to do this. We are probably the only people in the world who are not allowed to advocate for ourselves as a group. I don't even want to. When do you think is the last time a white man was brought in on something to make sure that white men are represented properly? Fuck off. This idea that two people must be similar in their thinking because they look similar is just redacted.

PRETENTIEUX

I'm surprised Colin doesn't see the deaf girl who's identity is being a "BIPOC artist" as hamfisted

I like your Chris, I do not like your Chris-chans

Stand by for Part 2 with Mr. Metokur himself. Good one boys.

Pan Ic

I don’t feel like I see it complimented enough, but the synopsis for each Sacred Symbols podcast is really well-written, to the extent it always draws me in, not that it needs to! Much love from bottle of water country!
