Sacred Symbols+, Episode 379 | Colin and Brad Talk Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Added 2024-05-05 01:11:44 +0000 UTCIn mid-April, we at Last Stand published a nearly-four hour review discussion and spoilercast for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and it was well-received (thank you for that). But there was a common request among many viewers and listeners: "We want Colin's opinion, too." Well, fine! I (Colin) am finally done with Rebirth after 89 hours, and while I may go back to clean up a few things, I'm pretty much satisfied. Well, more than satisfied, really. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is exceptional -- one of the best RPGs ever made, in fact -- and it moves effortlessly from strength to strength. From resonant storytelling and powerful characters to a living, breathing world and incredibly high stakes, Square Enix truly nailed it, which may not come as a surprise considering how good 2020's Remake itself was. I was grateful to have Summon Sign's Brad Ellis along with me for a couple of hours, as we worked our way through just some of what makes this adventure shine. And we admit that there's so much to say that we may just have to do another episode in the near-future, perhaps with your inquiries as the fuel.

Late to the party, but I'm certain that Aerith will be brought back. They touch on saving her and changing fate so often in the game that I'm entirely convinced she will end the trilogy alive and well. Not convinced Cloud survives. Perhaps sacrificing himself to allow Aerith and Zack to live

There are plenty of other games with meaningful side content that people skip. Some people play games differently and their opinions reflect their experience, nobody else’s. Idk why he can’t just leave it at that. Instead he has to explain why people who don’t do everything have a less valid opinion of the game

The brutal challenges are some of the hardest things I've done in gaming. Once you beat that everything seems trivial. It makes me curious about how they'll do the Weapons and the Knights of the Round.

2024-05-05 13:02:02 +0000 UTCYou call out Yakuza fans for calling out the filler and mini games… the difference however is that Yakuza side content is well written and the mini games are better than anything else has to offer. Cabaret club is the gold standard for mini games.
