Knockback, Episode 284 | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy

Long-requested as a target of our show, The Lost Legacy is a peculiar 2017 release that fits somewhere between an expansion and a full game, and it doesn't star Nate and Sully, but rather Chloe and Nadine, an interesting pairing to be sure. Made quickly by a spin-off Naughty Dog team and received well upon launch on PS4, The Lost Legacy may have represented the most conspicuous gap in my (Colin's) history with PlayStation, but that's no longer the case. Did Dagan and I like the game, though? We did, of course... and we have a ton to say about it. So please join us!

I thought the lenght was perfect for what it was. UC4 was bloated and had serious pacing issues - this is what stopped me from playing Lost Legacy when it released. I was pleasently surprised to see that it was actually handled much better in that regard than the main entry.

2024-05-23 07:28:15 +0000 UTCLost Legacy is way better than the first game in my eyes. Drake's Fortune can casually be beat in 6-8 hours, just like this game. This game also benefits from all of Naughty Dog's experience since Drake's Fortune. I don't hold high regards to Drake Fortune's globetrotting adventure. You are stuck on an island the whole time. Sure, it gets credit for being the first, and is amazing when considering the year it came out, but I'd much rather play this than Drake's Fortune. However, two, three, and four are a different beast. When compared to them, Lost Legacy is definitely the runner-up.

2024-05-22 19:04:40 +0000 UTCLove Dagan's comment on Uncharted as a series saying that it's not especially "deep" or "philosophical" or has some grand political statement but that it's "thoughtful". Everything is crafted meticulously and with care and I thought that was a great description of a series that is often so bombastic but has that very human element throughout.

Would really love to see more games like this from the main PS Studios - smaller projects while still high quality, which can get released quicker
