Schedules are often hard to align, and either way, the news has been kinda slow. We're pleased to convene today, however -- all five of us -- to chat about a few items, and have some laughs along the way, too. We start by going over recent changes to Xbox's Game Pass subscription service, what the future might hold for its multi-tiered, multi-platform approach, and whether it's better for the almighty Call of Duty to sell a la carte, or for people to sub to Game Pass. Surely, there are upsides and downsides to both. Meanwhile, four of five of us have played the open beta for upcoming PlayStation first party PS5-and-PC multiplayer hero shooter Concord. What do we think about Firewalk's first foray into this crowded and competitive space? Does it have any chance of success, either in the short-or-long-term? Heck, is it even fun to play at all? All of that -- and more! -- await on the other side of play.

It's more then capable, In fact its blatantly obvious to me that this thing is going to garner its own audience. The sci-fi 70s aesthetic is unique, you dont see this. There's a vibe here. I don't think it'll be fortnite or even half a helldivers 2 but It'll certainly have a healthy pool and I can see it growing over time and generating money for PlayStation on a regular cadence. Its very high quality, the more you put in the more you get out.

2024-07-17 11:08:29 +0000 UTCIdk I think the maps and artstyle of Concord are pretty cool are cpl character a bit derivative yea but to the same tune a majority of them are pretty unique like the mushroom spraying lark, or the vacuuming 1-off. The shooting is really well done and the story has potential as well. The first cutscene did look like a marvel esque scene, but the second one with the galactic guide was high stakes, well acted, and piqued my interest in what the universe is about. It remains to be seen but I do think this game has the potential to be really good.
