Constellation, Episode 82 | Back By Popular Demand: Another Political Conversation

Welcome back to Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, I (Colin) am joined by Punching Up co-host Gene Park, Sacred Symbols co-host Chris Ray Gun, and storied game designer David Jaffe. Indeed, this is the same cast that appeared on Episode 78 of our show, and we're back just a month-or-so later by popular demand, with another four hour-long heater. As was the case last time, this conversation is virtually entirely political, and we didn't split it up into topics because the structure is frankly more chaotic than that. But we touch on many, many topics: Kamala Harris, Trump vs. Harris, SCOTUS, Elon Musk, voting, the end of the United States, culture, race, and -- inexplicably -- a solid 25 minutes on Boogie2988. Anyway, please enjoy. And remember! This episode is obviously not going to be for everyone. No whining allowed.

I agree with Colin and the reporter man.

JoJo420

Colin is the only one living in reality.

Jerry Huerta

I’m truly curious why Chris is convinced that Teslas don’t run well at all 🤔

SnipaMasta

If Jaffe and Gene could curb their incessant need to interrupt so frequently, these conversations would benefit greatly.

Kevin Garcia

Why does Trump continue to get a pass with so many right/centrists? I understand that he can do no wrong with his followers but even the Constellation guys refuse to take him at his word or actions. His comments about military service members, the handicapped, and women should be enough. Never mind his part in 1/6, Roe v. Wade, and subverting the election. One of these guys said that DJT is intelligent. He is not. Have you heard him speak about Hannibal Lecter, anything medical or historical? Have you heard him speak at all‽ He is a stupid man born into $billions with an enormous ego and a skin as thin as tissue. Not leadership material by any measure!

Aaron Solet

Love Jaffe in these, please keep them going.

Guybrush Threepwood

I really do enjoy these episodes. I just want to see more educated guest on the issues, lol. Jaffe is just emotional. Colin clearly just takes straight talking points from the circle he listens to. It just comes across chaotic, cause nobody talks about policy at all.

Jacob Lesperance

I would really love to see an informed person on this show instead of Jaffe. I love Jaffe, but someone like Kyle Kulinski would be great to actually argue intelligently from a left perspective.

Jacob Lesperance

I just wish he admitted to wearing lifts

Ahlickaloo

I’d like to think that somewhere a person discovered this thinking it was a political podcast and got to hear “gender fluid running down my face” 😂😂😂😂

Draven E.

The irony of having jaffe on a conversational show is not only does he constantly interrupt but on the rare occasion that he does let someone get a thought out he completely misinterprets what they are trying to say even if it’s very simple lol

Jeece

Dude, take it down a notch

Timothy Monnig

It’s hilarious to me Colin thinks Ron Desantis would “run roughshod” over this election. He made his bid and it completely fell apart. The more he toured and met people, the worse he did because everyone realized he’s a weird annoying little freak.

Josh Feldman

I don’t agree with Jaffe on most things, I enjoy listening to him however, just don’t interrupt lol

Thomas Adamson

It’s funny to hear jaffe talk about what he likes about Harris but he knows damn well that he would have voted for that corpse regardless

Brian

How can someone hate something like twitter and still go on it all the time? Is it the eternally online thing that makes you want to hate fuck something like that?

Brian

Jaffee just continues to embody the moldiest of curdled generation-x. The man may in fact be a legitimate cuck. Every time he tries to present a “new and more wisened” persona, as the result of some online slight, he continues to just transform the game of colossal and excruciatingly obtuse obsequiousness towards a Marxist agenda; usually a particular brand of “color revolution”. Jaffee. The emperor hath not garment.

Saint947

There is SO MUCH FUCKING ADDERALL in this runtime, my teeth were chattering by the end.

Saint947

Trump couldn’t do anything his first term because democrats wouldn’t allow him to. They were too busy talking about Russia collusion, which was a big nothing burger. Jaffe has Trump derangement syndrome. That’s why he can’t see why Kamala is a bad candidate.

Tanner Denso

He literally said it’s slanted, it’s like you didn’t even listen

Chris Evans

Well done. To add on, I think it completely misses the mark when Colin claims people are "suddenly acting like he's the best president of their lifetime" - this of course speaks to the different media ecosystems people engage with, but generally left-leaning people have been very celebratory of each of your bullet points as they've continued to happen. The main sticking points most recently (if any) are his handling of the Israel/Hamas conflict (as media puts it) and his stubbornness to not drop out of this race. He's now corrected one of those things and being understandably celebrated by people who were already largely fans of his policies. And hey, if you think all of these things don't matter or are bad policy, then fair enough. Simply acting as if he's been completely impotent is a bit ignorant though.

PluuusRyan

Y'all got to chill on the Jaffe hate. He just doesn't take the BS answers and is good at poking holes in what is said. Love the chaotic energy and much respect to him! The exchange with Collin about "what policies about Harris though" was great. Jaffe asked a critical question and Collin didnt answer, it took asking 3 times before Collin finally answered. We get this all the time in politics, just answer the fucking question first, then give us the tangent on why DEI doesnt matter and on the fact that Harris was choicen to be VP because she was black. Only replublicans care about this, your democrat voters could care less. Jaffe didnt say that but its sorta where he was going. People are already saying Harris has to pick a white guy for VP for extra votes. Its just the way the game is run so the whole point didnt make sense on collins end. Now on Biden, any person can take 5 seconds to see what he has done instead of talking about it for 10 minutes and not listing anything. Here are a few: -First Black Vice President woman and first supreme court black woman - CHIPS and Science Act, research baby! we need to spend more to stay on top. This is future investiment to ready us for when China invades Taiwan... -Expending health care for vetians to be covered for their toxic fume exposure suffered over the last 25 years from burn pits. This is huge. -Respect for Marriage Act making the right to marry who you want a federal law............ -Inflation Reduction Act -Pardoned all prior federal offenses of simple marijuana possession -Cap on the Cost of Insulin... again huge. -Student loan forgivness, mostly for people who went to universities that should not have been allowed to function but the states allowed them, add in the changes in Fafsa system which had not changed in 10 years, last time under Obama. Huge -The pandamic handling, American Rescue Plan. -Infrastructure bill of which we need more. -First major gun safety legislation passed by Congress in nearly 30 years. Did very little because of republican opposition but the adminstration/demo wanted more. -Paid federal employees raises. Some nice bumps under Biden. Now Biden has had some sumbles, in particular for me the border (which I can understanding given the current state of some of the counties in South America after COVID......) and the U.S. pull out of Afghanistan which there was no excuse really. All that to say that some of yall look really dumb choosing to ignore the things Biden has done as if they are insignificant. I agree with the idea that they are over selling his achievements but lets not pretend that most Presidents don't do this. To say he hasn't done anything is ridiculous. Shot out to Chris, a lot well said things except the Testa thing. When Chris said, we are just tired of it all, I couldn't agree more. Elon Musk isn't a god. Never deity a person because when you do you become bias.

Joseph Cerini

I’m surprised Colin claims that Twitter is some free speech platform since Elon took over. It’s still moderated, just with an “anti woke” slant. You can’t say the word “cis” without being soft muted. You can say the N word all you want, and basically any other slur but the one that Elon claims is harmful. I am all in favor of a fully free speech platform but to pretend that Twitter is that platform is just sucking up to Elon, or ignorance of the reality.

Max Davis

Gotta maintain that echo chamber, am I right?

Kyle Phegley

I know some people don’t like them but I’m a big fan of these episodes. Would enjoy seeing more

DuckFeathers

So by your logic Trump speaks intelligently? Harris is far smarter and well spoken than Trump who's just as senile as Biden. You seem fixated on tiny issues that are blown outta proportion by social media.

Reuben Barrett

I personally believe that most of our problems when it comes to race is still based on old bastards running our companies / country. I work in a conservative state in a extremely diverse office, and we have no hr department. We are one of the top producing "divisions" in the country and I think the reason it runs so smoothly is because the median age of leadership is 35

B-Nole5

Spare us the moral grandstanding, lad.

Adam Barnes

Biden dropping out is less complicated than it seems. Top DNCs donors lost confidence he could win so they turned off the money. You can’t run let alone win a campaign without money. His choice was to lose like a fool or bow out with some level of fabricated dignity and honor.

Philip Dunphy

Need more of these as big political events happen

Nick Pacheco

Like the opinions or not this conversation actually felt like a back and forth between friends unlike laat episode. Laat tkme I felt gene and chris didn't talk and ot was a Jaffe colin show, which I love those episodes but for constellation I want to here from everyone. Jaffe is gonna be Jaffe, who I do like, and I appreciated the gang making sure everyone got a better turn to talk

The GophersLoafers

I was very sad to see Chris have to go. The past few episodes he's really made me proud, not that it matters of course, but he's been a very reasonable and a surprisingly mature voice on these episodes. 👏👏👏

Lou & Rei Loper

U still going on?🤣

Dan Morgan

I like Jaffe but Jesus Christ in these group formats he’s borderline unbearable lol

Dan Morgan

I think you have to keep in mind that the kind of people who are inclined to make comments on a Patreon post like this are often the kind of people who are assuming that Their Voice Needs To Be Heard, who have been utterly subsumed by the social media bug, and who are therefore likely to be argumentative/frankly kind of loudmouthed (not everybody, but definitely some people here). Compare that to the actual numbers at play, though—LSM has 13K members, and we have 250 comments on this thread. That's a whopping 2% of the audience (and I'm sure many of those are multiple comments from the same user). The other 98% are simply listening and going about their day. Don't let the signal-to-noise ratio fool you— most listeners are normal, well-adjusted people who don't get into internet comment fights about politics.

Supes

About half way through, awesome group for this one. Also shoutout to Chris for holding his own in there

Chris Gordon

Calls trump a sexual predator than calls tulsi gabbard hot and jokes about having sex with her at a party with a mask on immediately after… we call that a jaffe

Josh Couture

Reddit politics, Reddit pharmaceuticals, Reddit sexuality, Reddit pop culture, Reddit spirituality

Caz

That was the best part of the episode for me

Caz

Only half way through, but Colin had no real arguments. Never made a single specific example when asked.

Ryan Zimm

Once again, we have three intelligent individuals with original thoughts and perspectives, not confined to a narrow mindset. And then there's David Jaffe. I can't help but wonder if he simply tunes into channels like The Young Turks or CNN before these episodes and then regurgitates mainstream media viewpoints without offering any original insight. He may have created God of War, but his narrow mind is Drawn to Death.

Nikky

I wanted to voice my opinion here about this great episode but seeing all these people attacking the individual and their views in a biased way made me think “fuck it”. We are lost.

Lucas Gremista

Love Jaffe but still don’t agree. I’d rather vote in a bottle of douche before I vote Harris in. She was chosen because of her skin color and being a woman. She speaks like she’s uneducated and the policies the democrats have put into place the past few years, I’d rather vote republican. Democrats need to fix their shit and stop worrying about 1200 genders and helping other countries with our money.

Robbie Cooper

This was great. I was so excited to see it because I loved the first one. Maybe these could become a thing until the election?

Bizy_Mix

The comments section sucks ass but the episode was fun, I enjoy listening to you guys talk politics.

Steven Doroslovac

Have you tried mail in voting? I don’t know if any states rolled it back or not but it’s been a personal lifesaver for me.

Steven Doroslovac

Love these political focused episode! Please don’t get discouraged about some people not being interested in them.

Peter Medema

As someone that works in the automotive industry dealing with multiple manufacturers, Tesla are objectively bad cars compared to other large brands.

Eric Golley

Fantastic, chaotic, intense—everything I want from Constellation. Thanks, gentlemen.

Ember's Arcade

Jaffe is like chocolate cake. Eating it once a month is great, but eating it once or twice a week makes one sick of it. I appreciate Colin calling him out on interrupting his arguments. That was getting annoying.

yosh_wah

Colin X Jaffe is a winning formula. Jaffe is a lunatic. I love him. Gene is a terrific third wheel. Dorks in the comments complaining - you're engaged. LSM W

Rufián

Colin and Gene are centrist with specific leanings of opinions in different directions. Jaffe and Chris to a big degree are regurgitating lies and ignoring truths they see online. The “well but Trump…” counter argument is lame.

NecrumOddBoy

Suggestion if you do this again, bring on someone else who also has a view on the right side of the spectrum. From a listener’s perspective it would be more interesting if there was more of a spectrum. Gene is a bit more moderate which is fine, but I’m not sure having two democratic socialists simultaneously is worthwhile.

Baptiste Hebert

I’m sure this stuff does numbers, but I would uhhh… probably not do this again if it was me.

Stray_Bullets

It’s crazy how these four men can have vastly different opinions on a multitude of topics and still be friends - meanwhile, so many ppl in the comments are raging lol. Guys, they’re just opinions. It’s okay to disagree 🙂

Adam Martinez

Have you listened to him on snark tank

Brandon Tyler

They're easy to skip, which is exactly the point Colin made at the beginning of the show 👍

DaringOne

Holy hell Chris, your take on Tesla is so objectively wrong. Definitely spoken from someone that's never driven one, and probably is just absorbing all the negativity around Elon. Elon may have gone off the deep end, but I'll never own anything other than a Tesla as long as my lifestyle supports it. My two Teslas are far and away the best vehicles I've ever owned.

DaringOne

You see Colin over there patiently writing things down to talk about and Jaffe just yells over him and Colin being as polite as he is wont tell him to shut up. The irony is that Jaffe gets mad at his chat for doing the exact same thing on his stream.

Fat Lee Adama

I swear Chris thinks he’s more normal and everyday than he is.

Cole Barker

I do like the political episodes but they are a bit too chaotic to listen to. It feels like an ADHD fever dream where everyone is cutting everyone else off and preventing each other from completing a thought. There are even a few times where someone tries to circle back to the original topic to say their points and they get interrupted again.

Denim Dan

I'm sorry, I just can't listen to Jaffe. Sophomoric and rude.

ByWatterson

We have to accept that Jaffe will only do two things. Spout leftist rhetoric and ignore reasonable criticism of his party lines. The dude ignores the fact that Harris has sexual history in her political career and Biden has sexual misconduct in his career, then turns around and calls Trump is a predator and follows that up with Tulsi is a hottie saying Gene banged her. Come on people; the decorum can be better than this. Jaffe straight up refuses to accept data or facts if they are negative towards democrats.

NecrumOddBoy

I have a Tesla. It’s a great car. Once again Chris just making a blanket statement without the requisite information because he has an axe to grind.

Matt Llewellyn

Chris and jaffee on a politics episode?!?! BIG skip for me 🤢🤢

Brenden

Jaffe thinks manipulating a headline/photograph to elicit a certain response is "inside baseball" in the journalistic world? Are you willingly this stupid when applying any scrutiny to any other industry jaffe?

Khyle Claeys

I promise that I appreciate differing opinions. I just wish that people were consistent. Would supporters of "leftist" causes dare to hold their leaders to the same standard they hold Elon Musk to? And I'm no Elon simp myself.

Marco Bruno

lol right the only person killed was a Trump supporter.

Casey Cieslikowski

Chris’s stance on January 6th and the laughable points of project 2025 is so expected. It’s all so tiring. The gaslighting of how bad January 6th was is just embarrassing from the non American prospective looking in. Hearing people compare it to 9/11 or the here with the BLM riots is just intellectually broken and dishonest.

The Rose Experience

Exactly!

KillnStrangers

Jaffe barely lets anyone speak, I don’t hate the guy but god, is he annoying AF.

KillnStrangers

I think a big reason why many people just don’t pay attention to any type of politics is because they can’t go vote anyway. My job forces us to work a minimum of 50 hours a week and doesn’t give time off for any elections meaning i either don’t go vote or I take a day off and have to make up the time on Saturday and after 50 hours i really need my 2 days off so I just don’t bother. I’m sure several people are in a similar situation especially retail workers. Publix isn’t going to close on election day and if a cashier is already working a double shift I think politics are the least of their worries that day.

Halo Reaching4dick

The best way is her track record because she’s a failure with little intelligence. The framework of nicknames is juvenile and idiotic, Kamala can’t talk policy, she’s failed at everything she’s been tasted with, she’s OBJECTIVELY a DEI hire by Biden’s own admission, she slept her way into everything she had and was gifted positions she wasn’t remotely qualified for and was awful in those positions as well. Tulsi Gabbard already ruined her past track record, just take that and build on it with what she’s done/hasn’t done since being a VP

The Rose Experience

Yes.

The Rose Experience

It’s really only a handful of people that just cannot control themselves and start name calling but yes, politics brings out the worst of this community.

JT

These podcasts create the worst comment sections and actually make me believe this community might not be as respectful and tolerant as I thought

Jimmy Neutron

Comment section is a shame - love the political videos (TRULY!! ) I can’t believe people complain like this or are so nasty in the comments man. Disappointing. But please don’t let that stop the show from happening, just childish behavior

A Hind D

Haven’t listed yet but let me guess Chris’s and Jaffee shit out media talking points and offer nothing to back it up and Colin does t call them out on their shit.

Casey Cieslikowski

Chris is infected worse than I thought.

Remington Wilson

Can we get less of these political episodes please.

Casey Cieslikowski

lol respond to one of his comments with this, don’t try and bury it. Man up

Adam Barnes

Nothing makes me want to leave this community more than seeing the toxicity that these comment sections have turned into.

Paul Knickerbocker

Did Elon musk buy twitter for any other reason than for people to think he’s a funny and deep thinking person lol

Dan Morgan

Yes its just like the vid of the woman screaming because she didn't have a case.

Otacon_Ocelot

Assuming the Democratic Party is actually democratic is y’all’s first mistake. It’s a donor party nothing more. As a far left communist, fuck Kamala Harris.

Kojima Made Me Gay

They care about feelings not policy. They would put themselves into financial ruin just to vote for a person that makes them “feel” better about themselves. There used to be a time where policy and the economy were the major driving forces in elections, clearly those days are gone. Now, I’m supposed to vote for a party because Hollywood and the costal elites tell me to. 🐑

Chris Van Buren

One political party openly supports Terrorism groups and castrating children. That’s about all I need to know when it comes to voting.

Chris Van Buren

Jaffe and Chris keep spouting the mainstream media talking points about Trump and Vance but never give any examples of the things they’ve done. It’s just “oh January 6th,” “Vance is weird,” “the things they’ve said about women.” Kamala literally locked people up for smoking pot and used them as cheap labor and laughed about it.

Jason Preble

Fuck yeah, awesome response

ajwhite

K.

Chris Van Buren

The whole of GOP is still looking for an effective way to attack Kamala that appeals to moderates. She is far from perfect. But with almost every attack you can say, but Trump did something equivalent or worse. Joe biden's cognitive decline was something distinctive you could attack him on. They still tried to claim Trump also had cognitive decline, but I think no one except democrat pundits believed that.

Dennis

Brandon Van Cleave is the David Jaffe of the political episode comment sections.

Colin Moriarty

"I wanna have a thought that is more than two minutes long" is the perfect line. The listener wants this too!

Josh Daniel

That was wild to me. I cannot take Tulsi’s “I’m the anti-war person” shtick seriously at all.

Colin Moriarty

The next political podcast is definitely a no from me if Jaffe is involved. Differing political opinions are totally fine and even interesting, but I can't stand people who constantly feel the need to interrupt their fellow hosts. Just let them talk or bow out

Rayzar

While I have no problem with political episodes you should pick 4 specific topics and actually research and have some sort of argument and rebuttal like an actual debate, like a debate on whether affirmative action is good/bad is an interesting topic to debate but your argument is just “I read something on some website 6 months ago” the argument becomes hollow, have actual sources and numbers to back up your claim instead of just saying “interesting or u huh” when someone disagrees.

Brandon Tyler

If the next political episode is this same line up it’s a hard pass from me.

Adam Barnes

1. Fuck Elon Musk 2. I'm voting for Kamala so fucking fast

Michael Hedrick

100% dude needs to learn how to take notes and circle back to something instead of immediately interjecting.

Chris Evans

Agreed need to balance things out a little bit. Call it a DEI hire lol

Chris Evans

As someone who is not political. I actually enjoy these episodes. Maybe I’m just a big fan of LSM content and like hearing Colin and the other’s opinions, but I enjoyed it.

oh that pesky dna

Love these political topics. However, it would be nice to get a guest who is to the right a little farther. Someone who WILL vote for Trump. Colin is really a moderate now.

Anthony A.

Maybe Jaffe wouldn’t have to interrupt if he listened to the whole point being said first.

Hammertime44

Hearing the guy who cannot stop rearranging his bedroom try to tell others who is a normal person and what they are thinking is something else. These LA content creators man…

CUMSoftware

Nikki Haley being called a sellout but Tulsi Gabert being the darling is the funniest shit I heard on this podcast. Just say you loves DINOS and hate RINOS. Much shorter and honest.

Andre Watt

Correct. I moved from a metropolis in a condo to a smaller big city and bought a house. I couldn’t stand not being able to do anything in my condo and I love the DIY projects my wife and I do in the house and can modify anything! I also love cutting my lawns and shit. It’s meditative haha. Especially baked.

The Devmeister

Boogie done fucked up haha

The Devmeister

I’m also a half hour in - and not a single person on the podcast has spoken has much as Colin has. You’re showing your ass here hahaha. Bias against Jaffe.

The Devmeister

I can’t do this episode, I’m half an hour in and Jaffe just will not shut up for 30 seconds. I wouldn’t mind as much if he was interrupting with cogent points, but he’s got a terminal case of TDS and isn’t living in reality.

Ryan Taylor

You control the podcasts you listen to

Suce Mes Orteils

Back by popular demand?? Seems like a bold statement. These political episodes kinda suck to be honest

NukeDukem

lol Kamala has never been liked by anyone and the “JD Vance is weird” tactic doesn’t work coming from the party of the LGBTQ cult who insist on having access to your children

Brandon V

I feel Kamala is going to win by a lot not because she has the energy of a wine mom but because the messaging has changed to "MAGA Republicans are weird." They have a weird obsession with DEI, wanting to ban contraception, being anti-public schools, worshiping guns, hating on childless women/couples, and worshipping Trump like the second coming of Christ. I think a lot of moderate/centrist conservatives are going to vote for Kamala just get rid of MAGA and get a rational candidate again

Suce Mes Orteils

nah, I agree, and I consider myself to be right of center. I don't think Twitter makes sense as any sort of "public square" space, it's way too chaotic and anger-inducing for that. I also think it's a fundamental error to consider it to be a reflection of "what people really think" or some sort of mirror of the collective unconscious or whatever. The Twitter experience *itself* causes people to think and act a certain way. We don't just use technology, we are shaped by it, and Twitter seems now to be designed to shape everyone into the ugliest, nastiest form possible. It sucks and it needs to go.

Supes

Lotta mean people in these comments.

Colin Moriarty

Twitter/X was better from a user experience standpoint when it was heavily moderated with a left wing bias. Not going to apologize for that opinion. It was a “managed cesspool.” Now it’s a trough of radioactive slop, all because Musk decided it was necessary to incentivize engagement farming. It was a massive over correction.

Davey Cakes

Yeah he needs to find more right wing contributors. Literally everyone is a progressive democrat except him and maybe Dustin who comes off as more of a centrist if not apolitical altogether.

Chris Evans

Chris made some decent points but trying to act like January 6th is so much worse than the 2020 riots is incredibly dumb.

Chris Evans

Man, I wish Colin would sometimes defend his points a little more and stand his ground on certain issues. I know he could push back more if he wanted and obviously he doesn't want to cause any strife with his peers, but I wish he would defend his position more as the only Republican on the episode.

Connor

Trump is still a threat to democracy, the actions of opposition doesn’t automatically negate that. There are fair questions about what Biden’s fitness to run was, at what times, and who knew about it. To say that this change is a threat to democracy is a stretch. Biden chose to run again, like nearly every incumbent before him. He clearly wanted to hold onto his presidency because of course he did. You don’t become president without a certain level of self-importance. That doesn’t exclude anyone from running against him, which a few people did. And people voted for him in the primaries (and Harris as VP, there was no indication she would be swapped out). I didn’t hear people crying fowl when Trump ran unopposed for the Republican nomination in 2020, because he was the incumbent at that time. Both parties are guilty of basically anointing their incumbent the nomination by either not running themselves or putting their own political weight behind them. Whatever the mechanisms behind the hiding of Biden’s condition, it wasn’t possible anymore after the debate. People saw it for themselves. That’s not the so-called “elites” or democratic putting in a coup to swap in Harris, that’s pressure from a 80% of the democratic voting base that thought Biden should step down. And he did! There’s a lot of speculation that prominent Dems didn’t even want Harris to get the nod and wanted someone else or an open convention. Their hands were mostly tied when Biden made his endorsement though. And she’s his VP, it frankly would have seemed even more strange if he didn’t endorse her, if we’re being honest with ourselves.

PluuusRyan

Anecdotal, but I definitely know of people who like RFK and are otherwise conservative, just don’t like Trump. Whether you consider that a “hardcore Republican” is open to interpretation, but these people exist.

PluuusRyan

Not just that - the polls have Trump outright winning the popular vote this time. That didn’t happen a single time in 2020 and only a few times in 2016.

Thomas

There is something so funny about Chris being a January6th/project2025 TDS boomer. Not beating the midwit redditor allegations

Brandon V

Harris wins easily? You realize the polls have been skewed in favor of democrats the last 2 elections right? If polls are tied advantage Trump. I don’t think it’s a slam dunk he wins, but saying Kamala wins easily is beyond moronic.

Chris Evans

It’s easy when you understand that for the past decade Chris has been pretending none of that stuff has been happening. Chris loves to play glib when it comes to insanity on the left

Brandon V

How does Jaffe come to terms with the fact that the DNC pretended Biden was fine just long enough to get past primaries so they could appoint whoever they wanted and subvert democracy? After years of claiming it’s Trump who is a threat to democracy? And that Kamala was front and center in that plan to deceive the American people? How do you gaslight yourself into being okay with that one, Jaffe?

Brandon V

Chris speaking on people getting special privileges to say whatever they want on social media is fucking hilarious. Bro, the status quo for more than 10 years has been pro leftist. Are you thick?

Adam Barnes

Love these episodes. Keep them comin!!

Adam Martinez

Woof. Fascinating, fascinating episode. I don’t know where Chris gets his news but it couldn’t be more obvious he and Jaffe have siloed themselves off. If you know hardcore Republicans that are voting for RFK, as Chris said, then you don’t know any hardcore Republicans.

Beau

Chris cooked in this episode! I hope he keeps coming back for these political episodes too

Breno Bezerra Bluhm

I’m only an hour in myself so far but this episode is fantastic love the push back from chis and gene which we hardly heard from last time. Jaffe is doing a much better job of letting people talk and Colin although I don’t agree with many of his points always does a good job articulating his thoughts and giving everyone room to speak. Hopefully it stays this great!

Shawn

Amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong.

Clay Miller

The boogie segment in the beginning is like nectar to me

Colin Moriarty

Apathy is for cowards. Being ravenously engaged is falling for the same psyop. It's theater - they're on the same team. Tremendously entertaining listen nonetheless. Thank you for the episode, gentlemen.

Rufián

You guys should convince Colin to do a political Constellation with call ins from the audience! Chaos!!! Pure, 100% USDA Chaos, I tell you!!! Delightful!!!:)

David Jaffe

I feel like the people who are anti-house owning or just simply pro-apartment/ townhome/ etc are people with no hobbies or sense of DIY. Living in a place where I can't knock down a wall, or turn on machinery and or power tools is just a none starter. I built an entire woodworking station, home gym, added rooms to my house, demoed my kitchen down to the concrete myself. The thought of needing permission to do any of that is wild, especially if I owned it and I still needed permission. I'm talking to my wife about remodeling the master bath. It's getting gutted to the foundation and built back up. Then again doing how stuff yourself cost 1/10 of what it costs to pay someone to do it. So if you aren't that person, simple living makes sense.

Trevor Deal

Teslas are almost perfect cars that drive better than and are faster than $300k cars. Chris has major EDS. Chris doesn’t know he has midwit Reddit energy

Brandon V

It’s so hard listening to political discussions when you can’t interject yourself, the amount of stupid shit that’s said that everyone else just lets pass is crazy. There is only one person in this discussion with right wing beliefs yet he does almost nothing to defend those positions. It’s always “I can’t go down this road” “I can’t get into this” as if he’s scared to offend the people who have zero problem interjecting with their leftist bullshit over and over again whenever he is speaking. Because he knows you can’t have a true discussion with leftists. The conservative is always expected to concede on many issues. Make sure you let them know you support abortion and gay rights!!! You can’t defend your conservative positions too hard, because the leftist will lose their minds. They have to be handled with kid gloves and it stifles a real conversation.

Love these eps please keep them coming

Repede

I’m just here for the first 2 minutes off the rails 😂

Brian Gibbs

I witnessed and drove thru the 93 Los Angeles riots and had a car shot up in front of me. It was terrifying. It was also justified. The Jan 6th riots were also justified in that the people were being lied to about thinking they needed to save the country. They didn't because the election wasn't stolen (at least in the way it was being presented and I appreciate Colin's more nuanced take on it- not sure I agree- I might. But I've not looked into that aspect yet). BUT they had been lied to that the election HAD been stolen, so I get why they were angry and trying to defend the country. At least some of them. But I don't think it was justified by the powers that were, because they knew what they were doing IMO and they wanted that riot and they wanted it to be a success IMO.

David Jaffe

To everyone at LSM, I appreciate that you have these conversations. Your style and personalities add levity to otherwise serious topics, yet you still have nuanced and serious discussions. I appreciate these episodes being peppered into the content. This is what Constellation is for, right? For a depth and breadth of topics and ideas? Anyway. Thanks guys! Good episode!

yosh_wah

2:05:35 so glad to hear someone say this. As a Kenosha resident that actually experienced the 2020 riots, I’m so sick of hearing people talk about January 6th being such a terribly violent infamous day.

Haru Discourse

Praising Elon for spacex and Tesla instead of the engineers is like when a team wins the Super Bowl and they hand the trophy to the billionaire owner who did jack shit on the field instead of the players

Brandon Tyler

These really are great episodes, mainly because it’s good to see you guys passionately and respectfully disagree on something that isn’t game pass 😅

Cai

Oh damn he left early! That’s a shame.

PluuusRyan

I appreciate Colin giving all of the credit to Musk and never once mentioning the actual engineers that do the hard work.

Brannon H

Chris, thank you for pushing back on the nonsense.

Caleb Peacock

Im going to mute “Trump” on Twitter when he wins bec I can't stand him. But I definitely can't stand these fucked up Alphabet people “cut your kids dick off” and can't wait till the cheeto burns those things out of existence

Otacon_Ocelot

YO Christopher Ray Gun is cooking this episode, some outstanding clap backs. Even simply asking “what do you mean?” to Colin and give a bit of pushback to Colin’s often steamrolling of Right populist talking points was awesome. I’m only halfway through the episode as of this writing, but wanted to share major props.

PluuusRyan

Only a matter of time before we hear a “Look here, look listen” or “big ups Liquid Richard”

Trevor Sheehan

Jesus Christ, Jaffe. Let someone speak

John Copas

I’m glad Colin finally realized why people were frustrated with Jaffe and yelled at him to shut up lmao. The problem was never Jaffe, it was that he just screamed over everyone trying to make a point. This was a great episode.

Christopher

normally I agree but chris was EASILY the most informed here and gave the most cogent, lucid arguments. colin is brainbroken by right populist talking points, gene is too much a yes man to colin, jaffe is too scatter brained. Chris immediately disarmed colins argument that 2020 protests were worse than jan 6, he clearly pointed why jan 6 was unique, he explained the false electors scheme, he explained why trump is more likely to implement project 2025-like policies and he explained how trump is unique undemocratic and a fraud. He also was the ONLY one to refute colin on the border issue and point out the fact that republicans shot a bill down to make the issue worse so trump could run on immigration - frankly embarrassing that colin didn't even know about this. colin had no answer to chris' final monologue before he had to leave. he was exceptional here

Philip Flood

Probably because it’s a super trendy thing to hate on Elon Musk right now.

Thomas

Should Chris even be on these? Whenever political topics come up it’s pretty obvious he barely follows current events at all.

Thomas

Yo Gene if you don’t know Wings of Redemption.. watch some of the youtube documentaries about him. Its good shit

Tristan Kimball

Hey Jaffe I’m usually one that complains you Interupt too much, just wanna say you did great this episode.

Whiskeywhiskey

I don’t understand the hate Chris has for Tesla. They are amazing cars that are infinitely better to drive than gas cars in almost every way. Just because you hate Elon doesn’t mean you need to hate the product. Drive a Model 3 and tell me otherwise. I worked briefly at the Gigafactory in NV and it is an amazing place where people are literally changing the world.

David Gotwald

Gene is such a fucking gangster. I love it.

Cory Knudsen

Iv never heard of this boogie guy. 🥲

Markeus

Waiting for Jaffe & Gene to start LSM After Dark

NeO JD

TBH, wasn’t able to get through the last one, despite (or maybe because of) my high interest in politics. Love that they keep coming out with the strong cast though, so buckling up once again…

PluuusRyan

I liked that part when Jaffe interrupted. (I have not listened to the episode yet)

ByWatterson

He broke into my house on christmas morning as a kid and fucked the family couch

Jake Nunley

Will the sex slave from Jaffe's mailbag episode make an appearance? Let's find out.

Meatball

I'm expecting at least 45 minutes of discussion about if Just Dance Vance did or did not fuck a couch

Suce Mes Orteils

This cast is perfect for honest and entertaining poltical discussion

Lemon Pepper

Ohhhh yes I was hoping you guys would talk about this!

Cyprus Davis

Buckling up! I’m excited to listen, what with the massive pile of historic shit that’s gone down over the last two weeks. Insanity.

Paul Waltz

This is the only time I'll listen to a political podcast. I can't wait!

Schindler's Lisp

Yes! The last political episode was great. The standalone constellation episode structure for political discussion is preferred.

Stewy108

Just what I wanted! You guys know when to deliver!

Jesse spivey

These are super entertaining to listen to

rubber nipples 209

I love these, would love them to become regular

Cian

Some men just want to watch the world burn

Timothy Martin

Heck yeah love these episodes

Anthony Palerino

LETS GOOO. I wasn’t a politics guy a few years ago, and I still wouldn’t call myself one, but you can’t deny we live in historic fucking times. It’s too important to totally ignore.

Diddy’s Dong Quest

These political ones are the best.

Jared A.

Yess! Was hoping for another political episode!

John

Dream blunt rotation once again talking about politics? LFG

Breno Bezerra Bluhm

This was my favorite Stelly episode. Stoked for another one, love the varying viewpoints you all bring to the table.

Quantum Radish

I can't wait to listen to this one!

Eric the human

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO
