In fact, it's becoming increasingly nebulous why the acquisition was made at all, with Bungie hemorrhaging money, laying off hundreds, shedding high-end talent, and churning through funds that could be better spent by Sony's actually reliable stable of teams. With further layoffs, the creation of a new spin-off first party squad, and drama galore, there's plenty for us to get into on this topic alone. But there are other things to discuss, too: Firesprite is seemingly making a PlayStation 6 game, Until Dawn Remake got an ESRB rating, Activision's compelling white paper makes a great case for skill-based matchmaking, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! Do we have any nostalgia for pandemic-era gaming? Would Sony have been wise to rely more heavily on established IP for their games-as-a-service push? 2024-08-06 15:24:07 +0000 UTCMy gut says that it was ultimately Jim Ryan's fault that the due diligence wasn't done thoroughly enough before the purchase of Bungie. He probably thought that they needed to lock Bungie down before someone else did, and pushed the deal through.

Legacy of Kain doesn't end with Soul Reaver 2 or Blood Omen 2 - the story continues in Lok Defiance, which brings Raziel and Kain both as playable characters, and it concludes their story (to a point).

2024-08-02 21:50:03 +0000 UTCI'm happy for Chris and the Soul Reaver remaster but I'm worried that being it's a remaster and not a remake it is going to review/sell poorly and hurt the games legacy and chances at a new entry. While the VO and story are peak, let's be real, the gameplay holds up like crap. The box puzzles are horrendous. They would have been better off remastering the OG Blood Omen because for one it's a better game and all it really needs is some QOL updates like faster loading times and maybe a quick weapon switch function. Hopefully I'm wrong because I really want a new LoK game. I'm still buying day 1 for sure

I get what Dustin is saying about the type of game described in the story here - and maybe it has changed direction since earlier leaks - but an actual horror game would certainly be something a bit fresher from first party, if that's what it turns out to be of course.

2024-08-02 18:34:18 +0000 UTC(38:33) For video editing, definitely check out Davinci Resolve. I was so impressed I left Premiere behind, and that was about 2 years ago. The free version is surprisingly rich in features, and the paid version is a lifetime license that works on 2 computers (pc or Mac). (Edit) I kept listening and heard what Colin said. Lol. Davinci Resolve does help with choosing a layout to mimic other programs like Premiere to make the transition easier.
