Through statements publicly delivered to press outlets, Xbox and PlayStation are trading blows over the status of Call Of Duty and the fulfillment of contracts on PlayStation's end. Indeed, it appears there is a legitimate fear over on PlayStation's side of the fence that Microsoft has been "inadequate" in delivering what is necessary for Call Of Duty to thrive on their platform. The tendrils on this story go deep as we weave through public letters submitted to regulators, previous comments made by both executives, and the blatant hypocrisy. Outside of the console wars realm, head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty has been quite talkative this week. We now have updates on the status of State Of Decay 3, Perfect Dark, and the much anticipated Fable. 2022-09-08 19:58:16 +0000 UTCIn Matty's defense, for people who haven't played all the Trails games, you just can't understand where Matty is coming from. I would go so far as to say nothing else like it exists in gaming. No other developer has the balls to essentially require players to play 9 separate games, *each of which* are 50+ hours, in order to get the full complex interweaving story. Matty has just hit the Avengers Infinity War moment where all of the prior characters and story beats are coming together for an epic one-two bunch of a mid-series finale across two games. I think I had previously left a comment saying I'm not sure it's a good idea to try and rush Cold Steel III and IV this Fall, but hey if you're gonna do it, enjoy the ride! Finishing up Cold Steel IV after playing all the other games is a hell of a feeling.
