2022-09-27 18:56:24 +0000 UTCProps to Dustin making pen & paper notes for his Suikoden playthrough. I find it way more satisfying than digital notes. If you haven't tried it, a cheap notepad and pen are wonderful companions to playing a complex game

2022-09-27 10:50:21 +0000 UTCWhere I live, there's still a number of physical media stores that aren't big box stores. Books, DVD/Blurays, Games, Music, all still available physically here. I'm pretty patient and don't have to play games on release to be happy, so if there's no physical, I'll just buy during deep sales. Sony will probably go from making $50-70 from me per game to $0-20 per game, and I might even just shift to Steamdeck and Switch entirely. I already buy Lillymo games on Steamdeck instead.

No NPD record for the game. #CrisisCore is ranked 300+ in the ranking of Xbox products on Amazon (PS5 at 27). #OctopathTraveler goes to GP and does not appear in the TOP 50 MOST PLAYED even once (for now)! Same with new release for #NiNoKuni (for now), which was hyped by Phil Spencer. And #dioFieldChronicle same thing - no appearance on NPD for Xbox. Makes you think when Phil says: "Our gamers want and love Japanese games." XD

I spoke about as it happened on Twitter and was overflown with comments "not agreeing" with my take, that it is WEIRD.

2022-09-27 08:33:06 +0000 UTCre: chasis d news... sept 2022, on the playstation and switch side, outside of very rare specific occurrences, i exclusively play single player games on disc. so much so to the point of if the game isn't on disc, the developer/publisher simply lost me as a customer. on xbox it's different. i have gamepass and use that quite extensively, but i still buy the first party titles on disc though when available. all that being said, the idea of a detachable disc drive may sway me to buy a new ps5 and like 3 or 4 disc drive units just to have on reserve 😊😊

It's about the ownership, at least for me :) Also the comparison to movies, renting VHS/DVS, buying music albums, and video games, does not work. Apple and oranges. Too long to write, maybe next call-in :P
