As promised, I (Colin) endeavored to get our two favorite subject matter experts -- Hoeg and Moore's Law -- onto the show to discuss the recent Rockstar hack/leak from a more academic perspective. We begin with our legal analyst Rick Hoeg of Hoeg Law and Virtual Legality, who dives into the potential legal fallout for the hacker(s), as well as the different litigious avenues Rockstar might pursue in remedying significant injury. Then, Tom from Moore's Law Is Dead and the Broken Silicon podcast joins-up to pore over the technical ramifications. What does it mean for a company to potentially lose its product's source code, and what insanity can result? What does the future of GTA development look like when it only took a single person making a single mistake to blow the whole thing up? Tom spoke to his dev sources to get first-hand answers, and we relay all of that -- and more -- on the other side of play.

It’s Ian Bell. The head of studio for all 3 Project Cars titles, both Need for Speed Shift titles, and even a Walking Dead game. But essentially he made a studio, made a game for EA, and EA then bought the studio. He does it again(makes studio) but only this time Codemasters buys the studio, and then Codemasters is then bought by EA. He recently announced he’s reviving the original studio he started at, and reviving that game GTR. I really want to hear about his journey, his expertise in sim-cade (simulation arcade) racing games and his thoughts on conglomerates in the industry and M&As. It may be chance to have a conversation with someone who isn’t gonna laugh at you when they see you play driving games. This episode may take research into a subject you have no desire in but I think it’s a great interview for some journalism for LSM. Break some news and have the wider world have to look at LSM in the downtime of gamin again😉

Way back in the day I played Quest for Glory IV and seemingly got stuck wandering through a wooded section for days. It was maddening. I didn’t find out until the next year the game was broken. Sierra Games announced a bug in the game that prevented progression, but it was fixed in time for their Quest for Glory Collection. I bought the collection, but never played IV, again.
