An Upcoming Schedule Change (Constellation + Defining Duke Ultimate-related)

I wanted to quickly write to everyone so that they knew about an upcoming programming change. And, in the spirit of transparency that we’ve always embraced as a company, I’ll let you know exactly why this is happening.
Here’s what you need to know first: Defining Duke Ultimate will be moving to a biweekly schedule. (That is to say, every-other-week.) Here’s what else you need to know: Constellation will soon be a weekly show instead of biweekly.
Now, for the reasons.
The paramount issue revolves around Matty’s and Cog’s respective schedules. It’s important to remember that Defining Duke is their side-gig -- Matty runs his own, popular YouTube channel and Cog has a real job in addition to his work on Iron Lords -- and we can only demand so much of them each week. Because they’re also needed on Constellation and Sacred Symbols+, we’ve decided to limit our ask of them to twice a week no matter what, so that they can have a more predictable cadence to their lives. (Happier and healthier podcasters make for better podcasts, after all.)
Nonetheless, when I was confronted with this issue, I sat and thought about it for a while, and I came upon what I think is a great solution, one that hopefully pleases all parties, most importantly the audience. See, Sacred Symbols x Defining Duke (which we publish each month on Sacred Symbols+) is a huge show. And Constellation is already becoming a dynamo, which is awesome. So I wondered: What if they record Duke each week, Duke Ultimate every other week, and in those off-weeks, they come do Sacred+ and Constellation? Matty and Cog loved the idea, and so did I. And thus, our new approach is born.
The schedule is a little messy right now because we’re moving on-the-fly (you may have noticed that there is no Ultimate episode this week, and we have nothing to replace it with). But what we’re ultimately going to do (I think) is this:
Monday - KnockBack or Defining Duke Ultimate (every-other-week)
Tuesday - Sacred Symbols+ (unchanged)
Wednesday - Constellation (moved from every-other-Monday)
Thursday - Defining Duke (unchanged)
Friday - Sacred Symbols (unchanged)
Saturday - Sacred Symbols+ (unchanged)
I hope that we can get this schedule circulating for February. In the meantime, expect Constellation to slowly morph into a weekly show, and DDU to cut back. Hopefully, this satiates both the boys’ need for more time for their lives and other projects, as well as fulfill the obvious want for more Constellation in our audience.
Indeed, some may say this is serendipitous. I’ll leave that up to you.

This is all well and good, but when will someone bring 'Chris Chan' as their topic on Constellation? I'm 20 episodes or so in and I think I need some in-depth counselling.

It comes through in the discussions and it's a great main course. Constellation feels like hanging out with the boys after work down at the pub which is also great for different reasons.

The idea of going every other week was so as to not increase each of your workloads with doing knockback every week. Now, you’ve decided to just do literally an additional episode every other week in addition to your old schedule. I mean, more power to you but hope you guys don’t burn yourselves out.

I have been feeling for quite a while that duke ultimate really hasn’t had enough to talk about for a dedicated extra episode every week. (I’m a massive fan of the dukes- love the main show) I’m not sure if it’s just that there isn’t a whole lot going on in Xbox land (apart from the activision deal) or if Matty and Cog don’t have the pull that Colin does…either way- looking forward to this new schedule moving forward!
