Days Gone. =\

We don't care about traffic, we care about Patrons. And our choice to put them behind the paywall has us at +400 new subscribers this month. I appreciate your view, though.

Colin Moriarty

While I am still on the fence of how much I like the series so far I really dug the “hive” scene element in Episode 2. It reminded me very much of the cool “horde” dynamic in Days Gone and the massive PTSD I still have from trying to clear all those areas out 💀

After listening to the discussion on spoiling the show by talking about the game, I would have to agree it is an incredibly small sample size of people that haven't played TLOU and also subscribe to this Patreon. This also made me realize the missed potential that LSM is overlooking by keeping these spoilercasts behind the patreon paywall. With how huge this show has become, I feel LSM could capture that zeitgeist and maybe get more viewers/subscribers.

BisonD

I don't mind the change, either. Should keep things interesting.

Colin Moriarty

Loved the episode, I had no issues with the kiss, though it was definitely an interesting departure to say the least. Dagan may not have liked Mazin’s explanation but it checked out with me. Since she was already infected, as long as she didn’t resist, the cordyceps was accelerating the process. The hive mind change will also take some getting used to, but just like in The Walking Dead and most zombie fiction, the infected are not the real story. They’re just the setting.

I don't want to listen to other content!

Colin Moriarty

I'm really digging it, too.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you, likewise.

Colin Moriarty

I don't wanna listen to anything about the subject matter we cover on our shows, but I encourage others to listen to it if they'd like.

Colin Moriarty

I enjoyed it overall, too.

Colin Moriarty

Yeah, that's an interesting point.

Colin Moriarty

It was bizarre.

Colin Moriarty

Hm, that's interesting.

Colin Moriarty

The Happening! LOL.

All the questions that Colin was asking about the production are answered in the HBO podcast Troy Baker does after every episode with Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann.

Joe

I look at the games our stories with Joel and Ellie since we all have different experience with the game and don't play it the same. And the show is just the story laid out not having to try to find some lore tucked away in Easter egg or some environmental telling log or text we could miss. I love the show it's Soo good.

Loving these episodes guys. Excited to be on this ride for 9 weeks!

This is the shit. Highly recommend it to all listeners though I doubt Colin would be interested since he’s said he doesn’t like listening to other podcasts that are in this space, but who knows.

Christian Cugini

If you haven’t already HBO are doing a companion podcast each week that talks about the making of TLOU with the creators Neil Druckmann & Craig Mazin. Troy Baker hosts. Great insight to their thoughts behind the changes and choices made.

the kissing part was so, so unnecessary. I was ok with the sudden change from people to infected, before Tess met her inevitable demise though. Great episode overall.

Arthas did nothing wrong...

I liked the change to infected for tess at the end. It was obvious they knew she was infected and weren't there to kill her. The "kiss" part was weird, not because the infected went over to network with her, it was the head turn that made it weird. If the actor kept his head straight on and the fungus came out it would have played way better on screen Imo.

Yalingo

I wasn't really worried about the changes to the fungus, but I didnt really enjoy the weird French kiss and changing her last stand from people to infected. Good episode up to that point.

Wasn't that an unverified rumour?

Deathspank

I have a theory about the change from airborne particle change. I am pretty sure after the Mando drama, where Pedro walked off the set at least once when he realized his character would almost never show his face, that he told the team, I’ll do this but NO MASKS, figure something else out. I’m sure there were other practical reasons, but I’m just sure his opinion counted big.

Hogan53

A friend of mine who doesn't play games is watching the show. When I was explaining how in the game it was airborne particles and spores versus fungus he said "like that shitty Mark Wahlberg movie where they ran away from the wind for 2 hours". I get the feeling fungus is more visually appealing and you can do more with it than spores hence the change.
