I haven't played a first person shooter at 30 fps in years, not going to start again now, I'll pass until Arkane gets their shit in a pile and fixes that. Dude, Microsoft really started this generation strong with things like Smart Delivery and robust backwards compatibility features like Auto HDR and FPS Boost (!!!). But they still have such a problem putting out games; Redfall, Starfield, Halo Infinite all got roughly one year delays. Halo still wasn't ready. Clearly Redfall isn't ready. We'll see about Starfield I guess. 60 FPS should be the standard for console gaming. What Sony has been doing is the best, giving performance and fidelity modes and also having an option to unlock the framerate, which is not only good for current VRR users, but essentially is forwards compatibility for the next console iteration. I started out this generation really hot on the Series X, but my enthusiasm has totally shifted over to PS5 the past 6 months or so. If Microsoft could just put out finished games on a regular basis they could be such a powerhouse. I mean, where is Hellblade 2? It was announced alongside the Series X in 2019, what is taking so long and why is Microsoft letting it take so long? Unless it's become a 30 hour experience with Last of Us 2 levels of polish, I don't get it. I hope it has, but we shall see..

I'm with Cognito and on "team delay". I would prefer to see Redfall, Forza Motorsport and Starfield get delayed to 2024 if needed as opposed to releasing when they're not ready to be released. Seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Waiting is disappointing but I have already waited about 18 months since Halo Infinite campaign so what's an extra year or so? In my opinion, if needed, delay the games.

You guys went easy on the IGN Redfall footage. I am far from a gameplay snob or a "get good" d bag but that? That was honestly insane. There's so many things wrong with that video. They're doing nothing, running away to do nothing, throwing his teleport disk everywhere but never once using it, sniper rifle in the garage, running to lock pick while his team is being downed, uses none of the abilities, shoots a cultists to near death and then just turns around and starts running again, shows up at the end of his team doing all the work and taking the final kill. I watched that and was shocked they posted that. If I was Arkane I would have demanded they take that down.

Redfall is releasing with no 60fps mode because they want footage captured at the beginning of release to look as good as possible. They don't care about framerate because it doesn't sell games. They want what people to see when they look up the game to be the version that they spent the most time with graphically.

Man, not a good look for someone who claims to be so against deception. Just because you can use a lie to get out of an uncomfortable situation doesn't mean that it is ok.

My question is when we are watching the trailers and preview vids is running at 60fps? Is it clear and everyone catching the devs...that trailer ran at 30fps? I only hear out rage when the devs mention it...but what's the Frames these games are shown at?

People really need to dial in their expectations when it comes to this 30fps issue. We only have a 60fps standard this generation because until now everything has still been targeting 10 year old hardware. Now that games are coming out without being held back by last gen hardware, you're going to see a lot more 30fps games again. Likewise, these games will all be a lot more demanding on PC and require hardware much better than the consoles to hit a steady 60fps. I expect we will see a lot of backlash around Redfall being "unoptimized" on PC when it releases as well, but in reality, it will just be more demanding than people expect.

Will watch this a bit later . But seriously..Its dark days for Xbox , they're just not putting anything out for us . This is supposed to be the most powerful console . There's literally nothing to show that on a exclusive level. We'll be waiting another 6 years for Halo . It's really sad and deflating . Redfall looks bland and forgettable . If Starfield isn't a home run, what's the point in this platform .
