Hi Matty, From what I’ve listened from interviews, and panels, TMNT: Last Ronin stems from an idea that Eastman and Laird conceptualized years ago. The team behind the first 100 issues of IDW (Eastman and Waltz) took the concept and made it reality with Last Ronin. Sadly, Eastman and Laird are not actively working together on Last Ronin, but Laird receives a credit due to conceptualization from decades prior. #redfalldd

My take on the game is definitely that they made a call after some time into the delay, that the game at a creative level was busted. But they decided to release it anyways. This kinda stuff is happening across industries. COVID didn't just slow stuff down and complicate production, it seems to have taken the will and pride out of people.

Matty, since you like DR - check out Raging Loop. It's remote japanese village DR with Werewolf/Mafia (the cardgame) as its premise. Great cast, gripping story with a greater focus on psychological horror and mindgames. Also has quite a bit of (sometimes pretty unhinged) comedy and a tinch of romance in it. Absolutely loved it and would put it up there with DR2 and Virtue's Last Reward. :)

Quick correction of sorts. Matty has brought up the Void engine of previous games and how Redfall being on UE4 could be the cause of Some of the game's problems. Their last game, Prey, actually used CryEngine, not Void. And Prey's Typhon Hunter DLC did actually switch over to using UE4. As always thanks for a tough, but fair and meaningful, discussion.

I remember trading my GameCube and all my games for and Xbox 360 and Bioshock. It was absolutely mind blowing for me. I didn’t get a PS3 until 2012 when my wife bought me one. Then the next generation I had both a Xbox one and upgraded to a One X and also a PS4 and upgraded that to PS4 pro. I used my PS4 for exclusive games only. I played my Xbox Series X for every single 3rd party game simply because games just ran better on the console. Fast forward to now and I own every console because I am blessed and have expendable income. So I have a Switch, Steam Deck, two PS5s and a Series X and also S. Tbh I haven’t turned on my Xbox since Psychonauts 2. I played on all consoles pretty evenly and chose to play Hifi rush on my steam deck. I’ve this generation I play almost exclusively on my PS5 including almost all 3rd party games. I’m really disappointed in Xbox lately. Sorry for the long comment. I appreciate you guys and love your banter. But as a fellow Mets fan I can understand Cogs comparison to Xbox having Mets energy. I love them but am often let down.

Should you get an Xbox if you already have a PC and PS5? Of course not. All Xbox games come day one to PC. That's the whole point of Xbox's play anywhere strategy. Heck if you're patient enough (shout out to the patientgamers subreddit), you could get away without a PS5. Just wait a few years for the Sony ports to come. If you're a pirate, you don't even need a Switch. I'm surprise PC guys are still asking themselves if they need an Xbox. Clearly, you don't. As a non-PC guy, I need an Xbox (and the other consoles).

Matty your suggestion of making sure you have a synergy and established pipeline with the studios before going and finding even more studios to buy and add to your collection, maybe even working closely with them for a few years before acquiring them, I believe there’s a phrase for that…
