Added 2023-05-06 16:00:05 +0000 UTCWanna hear something wild? It's been more than a decade since PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale came to PS3 and Vita. Indeed, the name of the game wasn't considered particularly unusual then, but would be now, because it was no battle royale, but rather a Smash Bros.-like fighting game from now-defunct second party Sony partner SuperBot. While selling more than a million copies and finding a somewhat dedicated fanbase (at least for a short time), PSAS ultimately passed like a fart in the wind when future DLC plans were abandoned in 2013. Since then, PlayStation fans have been left wondering what a new crossover fighter could look like, particularly considering how immensely strong the brand has become in the console generations since. The conversation starts at the very top, though, with potential characters. We have literally 80 of them. We wonder if we missed any?

I vote the T-Rex from the original tech demo, with a special attack where it vomits thousands of realistically bouncing rubber duckies at the opponent. Let’s go. Am a a huge weirdo or is that a great idea?

Also, one stage should be dedicated to the battle on the bridge between the Alysians and the Mokai. -Norse Kratos should be accompanied by Atreus. -Greek Kratos should be a seperate character and have the Blades of Chaos as their main weapon. There are enought move sets to distinguish the two eras' Kratos.

As a big fan of smash bros, I actually thought the KO mechanics to be fun and unique. On another note, it was odd hearing you all speak of the Journey character as a guy. Am I the only one who always thought all the characters were female?

I feel like Ape would definitely happen.

I'd also like to throw a mention to Kena (Kena Bridge of Spirits) and Jodie Holmes (Beyond Two Souls) Much love for the Ni No Kuni shout, though imagine how hilarious Drippy would be 😂 I feel like things like Modnation Racers/Wipeout can be represented through Stages rather than characters? And if they're in somehow then Gran Turismo needs to be. Absolutely loved this though, I long for another PSABR shot, I enjoyed it so much and as a huge PS fan it's a great celebration. I actually think it could work really well as one of Sony's new line of live service games, with constant new additions, a battle pass etc! ❤️

If I recall, the original game, squeezed in some properties by using them as the boards we fought on. So, shadow of the colossus could get included as having us fight on the colossus. For example. Really excited for a follow up!
