Sacred Symbols+, Episode 296 | Predictions For May 2023's PlayStation Showcase

The disappointing thing, however, is that we typically don't have very much to talk about in this regard. After all, PlayStation rarely speaks. But that's about to change for 65 minutes or so, when in a couple of days Sony finally breaks its long silence. The Sacred boys therefore gathered together to make 30 predictions -- 10 each -- outlining games, publishers, developers, hardware, and more that we think may make an appearance. How do you like our guesses? What are some of yours? Play along at home... and see you soon for the actual event!

This was a pretty fun (and a funny one, won't lie) episode to listen to AFTER the showcase. Great episode though! So much for that map of Playstation 5's next year or any mindshare stuff though.

2023-05-24 19:21:09 +0000 UTCFor the conversation of bad beginning, middle, and ending… The beginning is the hook and if the beginning is bad then I won’t give anymore time. The crescendo for me is lost. The games that are arguably notoriously known for bad beginnings has always been Zelda games (for me) with the exception of Majora’s Mask. Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess beginning is the reason why I couldn’t hold on and finish.

2023-05-24 12:37:50 +0000 UTCI think the smartest thing that Sony could do with the Syphon Filter franchise is to swoop in and steal Splinter Cell's thunder. Year after year the SC rumors never come to fruition (in any meaningful way), and Syphon Filter is in a perfect position to turn Logan into a more stealth-focused protagonist with a bevy of hi-tech gadgets in his arsenal. SF already has the characters and backstory in place; it just needs to double down on the stealth mechanics -- and maybe even introduce a multiplayer component akin to Spies vs. Mercs.

It just looked so damn charming and the art style was killer. Think there is any chance we would see something for this?
