Through the whole segment of Colin's FF "experience so far" I was saying in my head: "Just wait", "You ain't seen shit my friend" 😁 I'm currently at about 15+ hours in and it is the first time in years where I'm experiencing similar feeling to when I was gaming as a kid: at work I think about the game, when I go to sleep I recall moments that just happened, the music and visual flare keeps me giggling while watching the game. A strong candidate for my game of the year, and a landmark for this console generation. Something I will recall as the moment of PS5 era.

I distinctly remember thinking and commenting that Ep #222 would serve as the best onboarding episode of Sacred in recent times. I found it to be a perfectly paced blend of comedy and news, and it featured a lot of the team's recurring viewpoints.

Final Fantasy 16 pushes the PS5 to its limits with the late game boss fights you guys are gonna have your mind blown. Quality mode is definitely the way to go though for consistency

Colin, please do not invite a fanboy to the show. I agree with your academic curiosity, but I fear it will lead to yet another debriefing segment where the three of you confirm that “yes, we are different from the average gaming journalists and average gamers and yes, we do come to the table with honesty and openness where so much of the industry does not.” Not that it’s disingenuous or incorrect, but I don’t like how frequently the show gets bogged down in what feels like the same discussion time and again. I agree with Chris that the opportunity cost is too high given how many times you have already addressed this unique and valuable aspect of LSM.

Guys, I think you maybe should be including FFXVI as a GOTY contender also.

Hey Colin, when talking about the MGS Collection. You mentioned that if they don’t update the controls, you will not be playing. While this isn’t a perfect fix, if you own a Dualsense Edge, you are able to change control “profiles” that you can totally customize. For example, you could make the square button be R2. While you shouldn’t have to spend $200 to be able to change the controls, there is an option in case they don’t provide you one in game. Hopefully they do provide one though.

I'm interested to see how Colin feels about ff16s performance when he talks about the full game. I can deal with games not locking to their target framerate, but it swings so wildly on a constant basis that I had to stop.

FF16 is beautiful and plays great at 30fps. we will continue to see more and more games default to 30fps as this generation continues. better get used to it.

cool thing about eterknights - there is a gay romance option they've confirmed. something you don't see in a lot of these kind of jrpgs. i'm interested in the game from what i have seen but don't really care for the dating sim aspects (across the board) but that is very nice to see nonetheless.
