Disney's 1992 live-action hockey movie The Mighty Ducks is certainly no exception, though -- more than 30 years later -- there are a few bits that may not have gotten through the goalie (pardon the pun). The reality is this: The Mighty Ducks is arguably the greatest hockey movie ever, and one of the greatest children's sports films of all-time. It's also a movie that happens to be very near-and-dear to one Colin Moriarty's heart, what with his love of hockey and all. He was a third grader just beginning his youth hockey career when The Mighty Ducks hit theaters, and needless to say, it was formative. Quack. Quack. Quack!

I feel like this movie had an interesting view into the toxic AAU culture that killed the love for sports for so many over the years (including some people I was on teams with). It was honestly like 20 years ahead of it's time in that aspect.

I think he has improved so much as a podcaster over the past month. I think constellations and punching up have allowed him to be more concise with his words. I know everyone has loved Dagan for a long time and he’s been doing Knockback for years. However, I think podcasting with more people really helped. I love him now!

2023-06-27 22:07:55 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite sports movies saga ever! I totally agree with Dagan about how the key to playing baseball as a youth is to not be scared of the ball. I played high end competitive baseball in my youth much like Colin had with Hockey, and it's so true; if you tell yourself "That fucking baseball is my BITCH" then you're ahead of most everybody else. Same with skateboarding... Although I was too scared of the board to progress.

The Mighty Ducks episode with Ramon (from literally 5+ years ago) was an audio-only Patreon exclusive that virtually no one listened to, and which isn't available anywhere.
