Colin, concerning the sound system topic, sorry if this may come across as pushing the same point by various people, but I believe you are robbing yourself of a better experience.

 A good surround sound system provides a great experience with better audio fidelity and also positional sound, which is cool and also can be extra helpful in some games making you be able to tell if enemies are coming from behind and to the sides. It’s much more accurate than the supposed 3D of the Pulse 3D headset or any other headsets. If you just want the sound coming from the direction of the TV at least get a sound bar, which is pretty easy and unobtrusive to set up. You don’t have to get an expensive one, but sound quality on a TV vs a dedicated sound device is like hearing music on your iPhone on speaker mode vs on a proper "stereo". Given your musical sensibilities, I think you can understand this. I feel like this is a similar situation to the 60 fps revelation you’ve had - you will realize after that it’s a better experience. I hope this comment is helpful, I mean well. Cheers.

I have no idea why Sony products are so quickly dismissed. In terms of quality and reviews they pretty much dominate when it comes to audio. Looking at truste reviews/expert reviews etc, Sony will hold the majority of the top end. In terms of TV quality, whilst I believe the best all round TV is the LG, that is heavily weighed by cost. Nothing in the price range of an LG C2 comes close to that TV but go higher end and Sony most definitely competes.

I just need to chime in hear cause this is like 2-3weeks in a row where they have said that Sony doesn’t make top end TVs and aren’t recognized for it, which is just categorically false. Anyone who routinely pays attention to tv reviews (which I know these guys don’t) Sony makes some of the best processors for TVs and when combined with LG screen technology makes for one the best viewing experiences. I mean the best home theater TV rtings.com is the Sony OLED. If you go Consumer reports it’s the number 4 rated TV of all TVs as well. It just irks me when they say something very wrong about the TV market.

As a patent attorney, the way video game journalism covers the patents that these video game companies file is frustrating. I get why, it's a bunch of complicated systems unique to each country, but a little research by the journalists to get basic facts right would help you and other non-lawyers understand why these video game companies pursue patent protection. I don't blame you guys for now knowing the details because you admit that you don't understand these systems. As an example, Colin's statement that when a patent application publishes, that means that the patent has been granted. This seems right to a lay observer, but in most jurisdictions, patent applications publish 18 months after they are filed regardless of whether they are granted or not. There's no reason for you to know this, but Eurogamer could do a basic Google search and figure this out. So these Zelda patent applications may not have issued yet, and they may never issue.

Col, the actors don’t pay to be in COD, COD pays them and well. Cardi B said before that she couldn’t accept a multi-million dollar deal with them to be in the game because she had court blocking the deal due to her past. Nicki being in the game and heavily featured in the marketing earned her a nice bag. Col, why wouldn’t there be a She-Hulk show though? That’s the whole point of the MCU, building up the characters. Look at what they did with Iron Man, Thor, and GOTG to name a few. The problem overall has been the consistency of the writing. But with these protests, I have to imagine it’s all up from here once they keep writers on set again and don’t focus on profit over creativity.
