Starting in September, the fall releases are upon us, and it's going to be a busy time. We thought it would be fun to go over the remaining months of the year, highlight the games we're most excited about, and share our must-plays. We have a trio of sequels: Spider-Man 2, Helldivers 2, and Alan Wake 2, but there are some smaller titles that are absolutely worth taking a look at as well. Enjoy!

2023-08-26 16:47:45 +0000 UTCColin, it might be worth loading up the final control DLC after you finish Alan Wake. It is called AWE, and has a dual meaning: Altered World Events, and Alan Wake Expansion. I don’t want to spoil anything further, but I think you’d enjoy how it ties the IP together

2023-08-25 05:50:39 +0000 UTCProps to Dustin for the Cities Skylines love. Pandemic allowed me the time to try this game out when it came to PS Plus and it’s one of my most played games ever. On a broader note, loved this episode where you guys are letting your excitement for games steer the conversation. I love traditional LSM content too, but this laissez faire game conversation hit good. Thanks as always.

The television show Night Springs is present in Quantum Break. The live-action teaser trailer "Alan Wake's Return" in Quantum Break depicts FBI agents Saga Anderson and Alex Casey, who are central characters in Alan Wake 2. The Old Gods of Asgard are referenced in various occasions throughout Quantum Break, such as through a band named Stonecrow supposedly performing in tribute of the Old Gods. * During a slow-motion section, an office admin can be heard singing "Children of the Elder God." In Quantum Break, a lecture hall blackboard makes various references to the story of Alan Wake (both the character and the franchise) seemingly in the style of a literary analysis, drawing parallels to the hero's journey and even bringing up "This House of Dreams." Separately, another character can be seen playing Alan Wake on a PC. Two copies of Alan Wake's novel The Sudden Stop can be found in Quantum Break, one of which is signed by Wake. In Control, Mr. Door is possibly an allusion to the character Martin Hatch from Quantum Break, who is himself a "shifter" who moves between parallel timelines.”

I loved playing Alan Wake remastered and then was expecting a let down with Quantum Break (I've always been an Xbox main and never even played it) and was blown away with my enjoyment of it. Now playing Control and it's sublime (love the scientist cut scenes). Thanks for the content! I hope you play Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition at some point (man is it amazing!).

2023-08-23 18:52:32 +0000 UTCI think Colin would enjoy Steel Rising. It’s not a long game and I think he will enjoy an alternate story of the French Revolution. Its a highly enjoyable game. Don’t get caught up with the “Souls like” moniker.

2023-08-23 18:34:21 +0000 UTCGood call on the Ori games Dustin. I get a month or 2 of GamePass every year, get my fill of games, then dip out. But Ori is the 1 IP I wish they would put on PlayStation. (Besides Halo, but I’ve played those dozens of times)
