Cindy Want To Show You Something (Monthly)

     After a long day, Cindy reveals that she really just wants to visit the Ocean and get away from it all. She doesn't want to deal with everyone gawking at her and the prince together! Everywhere you go, everyone wants to meet you and get pictures with you. When you tell her that you have the perfect spot to show her, she replies,"Well, I have something I want to show YOU, as well," winking at you.
     After a bit of driving, you arrive at your destination. Next thing you know, Cindy is pushing you down on the back of the Regalia and taking complete charge! Lucky for you that you knew such a deserted locale!

I would also like to thank, and welcome, two of our newest members, A Complete Spiral, and Scarlet Moon! Spiral set up our music for us this month, and Scarlet did our voice work. This month was a big stepping stone for us, as we finally broke through our last goal! This means I'll be able to move my hours back at work and focus more on Dark Dreams itself. I tried some new things with the animation along the lines of post work. It's quite obvious in the lessened pixel noise, but there are spots that still aren't quite perfect. It's pretty damn good for SFM, though.

There ARE various things about this past month's animation I didn't like. The model was a tough time to get working, as Cindy's head (thank you to BayernSFM!) was hacked onto another model. We knew going in what issues each model had, but it was still a rough "go of it". While we were able to circumvent most of the issues, there is a bit of twitching towards the end of the cowgirl pose that we just couldn't fix. Otherwise, I am quite content! It was our first month all working together, and it went extremely well, even with the occasional hiccup.

A couple things will be changing (for the better) for animations. As I already mentioned, I am working on some new techniques in post to increase the quality of animations.

Furthermore, I will also be increasing the size of the maximum resolution to 3840x2160. This is the standard for most VR movies out there. After switching back and forth from the old Maximum Resolution to the Lower Resolution version, I didn't really see a difference. I did see a difference when I took the Lower Resolution up to 3840x2160, so this is good news all around. Lower Resolution animations will still get the same treatment as before. They will be of the same quality, but then compressed down in resolution to ensure that less capable devices can handle it.

Obviously with me cutting my hours, it is imperative that Dark Dreams continues growing so that I don't STARVE AND DIE. With that said, I will be focusing more on each animation individually. About this time next month, you will notice a dramatic difference in animations. The quality of lighting, contrast, pixel density, and color, as well as immersion, sound work, and angles are all being looked at and improved upon. Also, there are times when an animation is so good or unique that, despite its flaws, I just can't pass up converting it. With that said, I WILL be more picky about which animations, and artists, I work with. Don't let this dissuade you from suggesting artists/animations on the Discord! I still want Dark Dreams to be picking up the best experiences for you to try. I just want to ensure that it is of the best quality.

The Regalia we used in the animation will be releasing on SFMLab this month (thanks to NudeKytten) so if you are animator or just a fan of Final Fantasy, that will be available to you. Don't forget to vote for next month's positions and model! Even if your model doesn't win, each vote keeps it in the running for consecutive months. That is how Nurse finally managed to win this months!
