Meanwhile, in the realm of things far more serious, Cog chronicles a near-death experience he had, and solicits any similar stories from the group. Matty taps into the powerful nostalgia muscles we all seem to share, and wonders how captured we are by the past as opposed to living in the present. Finally, Dagan confronts the entire premise of multitasking. Why can't people just do one thing at a time? It turns out that question is far more profound than you might think at first blush.

Can’t believe my Mets fan brothers Matty and Cog didn’t bring up Edwin Diaz blowing out his knee during a celebration in the world baseball classic. While a closer is not the same as a QB it really hurt the Mets chances this year before the season started

The Bills didn’t make the playoffs until I was like a junior in college and don’t get me started on how bad the Sabres have been the past decade. I think the sense of community with these historically bad teams keeps people coming back, especially when you haven’t lived in that place in a long time.

I had my Sunday rituals where I would get up early, clean my house, go grocery shopping and by 1pm I am ready to hunker down and watch Sunday ticket all day. At some point I just stopped caring. When teams lose, people take things too personally. We’re not on the team and we have no control if they win or lose. Watching my friend stand in front of a TV piss drunk and screaming was a big eye opener for me. It’s hard for me to get excited for a team to just let me down in the end. Not to mention the cowboys don’t really have a home field advantage. The stadium is a tourist destination. It’s not like going to Philly, and the stadium being packed with die hard fans. It’s just not that same and I just don’t care about the Cowboys anymore. My bother and dad are big Jets fans. I feel for them. But In the end there is nothing we can do but be spectators. I’m a Mets fan too. But it’s damn hard to be disappointed over and over. I remember moving to Allentown two weeks after the subway World Series back in 2000. Those were great times. In 2005 I went back ti NYC for a summer and my cousin and I would go every Wednesday on Pepsi night where they would give out free tickets to the Pepsi porch to any fan who brought in a empty Pepsi can or bottle. Shea stadium used to be lit during the Pedro Martinez era.

I agree 100% but im glad it was in the NFCCG and not the Super Bowl because to get to the Super Bowl and most likely lose the last three times being there would have been far worse. Purdy has looked great thus far against the Steelers and Rams. He took some shots yesterday by staying in the pocket and delivering strikes. If 49ers stay healthy, they will be a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

2023-09-19 03:05:59 +0000 UTCColin, I hate to report that for the second MNF game in a row, there has been a devastating injury for a historically awful football team. A team that, much like the Jets, finally had legitimate playoff aspirations. I'm a lifelong Browns fan and I just had to watch our superstar running back, Nick Chubb, have his knee completely blown out. I write all of this simply to say that once again you will have a fellow fan commiserating with you over a cursed franchise ripping our hearts out. Just know that when the Jets are on, I am always quietly rooting for them because I feel a bit of brotherhood in our suffering. Here's to hoping that both Rodgers and Chubb have amazing recoveries and the Browns and the Jets meet in next year's AFC championship game. Sincerely, A Hopeless Browns Fan.

If you can bring in just a “serviceable” guy, with that roster, you’re looking at 10-11 wins and a wildcard playoff birth. Call Tampa and see how attached they are to Baker Mayfield, call Detroit and see how cheap you can acquire a guy like Teddy Bridgewater. Kick the tires on a guy like Colt Mccoy
