2023-09-24 16:58:21 +0000 UTCOh the rose tinted glasses with battlefield 3 man lol… I guess if you were on pc in 2011 it was probably good to look at but this game looked like top shelf ass on 360. Not to mention they CHANGED the shooting mechanics from Bad Company 2 where dice had already perfected them and removed a significant ability to outplay people. Just hold the trigger down 🤪. Such a shame 3 was most peoples first game. Bad Company 2 was like a jump from halo 1 to 2 in gameplay improvement. It was so tight and the weapons, artstyle, sound design, maps, and scale were so perfectly executed. You can see the intent behind the design at every corner. Shame. And Modern Warfare 2 really was popular not helping its cause

I haven't read this email personally (because I don't read corporate emails without getting paid), so this is just second hand info. I just find it interesting that Grubb is one of the few persons saying this. Basically some dude at MS thought "hey why doesn't our Xbox division just buy Nintendo", and the email is Phil gently/politely letting him down: "Yeah buying Nintendo would be wonderful, but that probably won't happen because xyz. But thanks man for the idea. I'll keep it in mind. Maybe one day!" Grubb's opinion is that the email is a nothing-burger and people are overreacting to it.
