As someone with a well meaning but over protective immigrant mother… I think Isi’s mama is pitch perfect and I love her.

With everything Isi’s going through, she needs someone level-headed and loving in her corner, helping point her true to herself. I can see from the relief in Isi’s face that this is truly what she wants, she just needed someone else to help her justify the impossible decision. It breaks my heart all the more that by doing this, she ended up losing herself so much. I bet that she’s so determined to make this choice worth it that she does literally whatever it takes to become as famous and successful as possible, but it ultimately rings hollow because the price of that fame is her authenticity. I can’t wait to see how things start to slowly turn around for her as she comes back to herself, which I suspect will start after these flashbacks. Ro is going to push her to find herself again. It’ll probably even be a source of conflict, but it’ll be so good 💜 (I hope you don’t mind my predictions, it’s fun flexing my story prediction skills!)
