No electricity (Again)
Added 2024-06-03 05:49:36 +0000 UTCHello. As you may remember, I am from Ukraine, and we have a war here. And the russians started bombing the electrical infrastructure again, this time more seriously than a year ago.
Now I have electricity in some form, but still there are many outages, sometimes emergency ones. Therefore, the development is delayed due to reasons beyond my control (I have backup plans, but still sometimes it spoils the process quite badly)
Then to development. I have already added different types of damage for enemies and player to the game. And also started using tables for easier editing of such numbers.

Right now I'm hesitating about one thing that could be bad and good at the same time. Namely, the more advanced use of items.
For example, from the beginning of the first version, I had the "Pickax" item, which allowed the player to mine stone. It was just a key item that unlocked the ability. But why not make it an active item that can be used as a weapon AND mine stones? In fact, I already have ready-to-use items like throwing daggers and bombs, but I can still add tools (pickaxe, bow etc.).
At the same time, this will diversify the possibility of using items and fuel interest in their manufacture (after all, the game has an inventory with resources that must be used somehow), at the same time, many possibilities will greatly simplify the game (you can throw items at any monster).
So I have two solutions to the problem:
The first is to remove the ability to throw an ax as a player's ranged attack, and add items (a bow for example) that have charge charges (arrows). This way there will be a balance for ranged attacks (they need resources).
The second is to leave the ax throw as the player's ranged attack, and make the damage from items like daggers or bombs low (which sort of kills their usefulness). At such time, the player can always throw the ax and use bombs or daggers to knock down enemies.
