YouTube sensation Oli Davis here, and I want to say a huge thank you to every single one of you. Without your support on Patreon, we genuinely couldn’t do what we do.
Because YouTube ain’t what it used to be (which is saying something).
Not only is its advertising increasingly unreliable, there’s now no guarantee the all-powerful algorithm will show our subscribers the videos we make.
At the same time, our costs have massively increased due to inflation and all the essential behind-the-scenes bits you never see. It means we’re making less money per video than we were several years ago. Some of our series have even started to lose us money. Every time we put out an episode of those shows, we’re worse off.
Which is where all you wonderful Patreons come in!!!
We launched WrestleTalk’s Patreon in September 2016, over 7 years ago. And in all that time, we’ve managed to avoid raising its prices. But I’m afraid we can’t hold that off any longer. So from the 1st August, 2024:
The $5 tier will go to $6.50 (Monday Night War early access & exclusive podcast, After Dark, uncut Survival Series)
The $10 tier will go to $11.50 (WrestleTalk Extra, 2 exclusive episodes of either Survival Series, 3 Count, Tables, Lists & Chairs, Worst Match Ever or more)
The $25 tier will go to $30 (WrestleTalk Podcast shout-outs)
The $50 tier will go to $60 (News Shout Outs)
The $100 tier will go to $120 (Video Call)
You’ll notice our longest running Patreon series WrestleTalk Extra has moved up to the $11.50 tier. This is because we’re putting in more time and effort into it than ever (which we’re loving - Luke and I are so excited to reveal the next arc to you all!). It means, though, that we need to raise it to a higher tier to make it viable. We hope you understand.
I know it’s never nice to hear the price of stuff is going up, but I really hope you can see how long we’ve resisted doing this for, and how much we truly love each and every one of you for helping us get here.

Are the Smackdown podcasts unviable? I’ve been disappointed these seem to have been dropped recently, especially with Paul Heyman getting put through tables and stuff - feels like big stuff you guys would usually cover, and I’d like to hear thoughts on. But appreciate its maybe not financially worthwhile. Maybe I missed the announcement. Regardless, much love.

Maybe I'll try it for August to see if it's worth it for me (NOTHING against the WT crew at all! Life has been a little rough this year. Lol)

May i suggest with moving WT extra to a higher tier, something like ad free normal WT podcasts is added, not sure how much work that takes or if it hits ad revenue too much, but its a thought based on other patreons I’ve supported😊

I am an episode behind at the moment. I think when I "catch up" this time around I will probably stop my subscription at that point. Maybe I'll start it up again for a couple of months in a years time when I've a new backlog. But going from $5 to $11.50 for mostly 1 podcast a month is too much for me.

May be inclined to jump in tri-monthly😉 so that way I feel like I am getting my moneys worth.

I miss my near daily shows with you all. However, I get things change. Maybe it can become profitable and make its way back again. Who knows?! But I’ll be upgrading to Tier 2 for sure.

I understand the motives behind it, but is it possible to keep the wrestle talk extra archives at the lower level? I regularly listen to the back catalogues but can’t afford the higher price
