Not sure if someone already said this here's the back story for why they all have wings. This is something you'll only learn in the manga. When you are finished with Skypiea The Shandia were once called the Shandorians. They lived on the moon along with the fellow moon races, the Birkans and Skypieans. The three races had also built a robotic race called the automata. However, when resources on the moon wore out, the three races had to leave the automata behind as they headed for Earth.While the Birkans and Skypieans settled in the Sky Islands, the Shandorians made it as far as the Blue Sea. They settled on the island of Jaya.

Because these guys seem to be the type to enjoy not only the story but also the interaction between the straw hats the funny moments etc.. People just go for the canon story but the funny moments and characters are also worth watching

It's nothing crazy epic like a major arc, its just solid entertainment, animated really well with good comedy. You'll appreciate some downtime after a major arc like this. The next major arc is a fan favourite, probably in 90% of peoples top 3, so take your time and enjoy the ride.
