One Piece - Episode 203 [RAW]

That's one thing current reactors have over us and that's the fact that they can skip the filler parts and they have people informing them of what they need and what they don't need. Back in those days it was mega-rough. Naruto for example, it's post-Rescue Sasuke Arc stuff was insane so by those merits yeah G8 is much better than those filler arcs. The issue is that these days when people hype things, a lot of the time that hype just can't be measured accurately. I hate hype personally. With that said, they're going to love the next big arc of this series. Guaranteed.

G8 is a really good arc for a FILLER. Thats why people hyped it up because it’s a good story line that don’t seem like filler because it makes sense from the perspective that they fell from sky island so they could’ve dropped anywhere. I don’t enjoy any filler but when I started one piece I didn’t know what filler was so I just watched everything and this was the only filler arc that I enjoyed

Yeah, it got overhyped and for that I feel real bad. It's good for a filler arc, especially for 2004. This was the same era Naruto and Bleach were filler hell, and at least G-8 had some effort put into it and some fun character moments. Also, I hate to say it, the period between G-8 to the time skip was *rough* to watch live. Skypiea ended in June 2004, and the next really solid canon arc didn't start until April 2005 almost 11 months later. G-8 was the only good thing One Piece fans got for almost 11 months. This is also when the anime started seriously catching up to the manga, and it starts to show. The pacing starts to get a lot slower around this time, the arcs are getting longer, and you start to see a lot more "non-arc" filler episodes--including five consecutive weeks of clip shows in 2006.

For the love of God watch 227 and 228 these episodes are HEATTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As someone who's up to date with the series and got into it around 2003 as a kid, this is the first time I've seen the G8 arc since I skipped fillers. Bruh, I don't see what the hype's about, I'm as bored as them lol. It's got some cool stuff in it but yeah this could have been skipped. Forreal.

I feel like the hype ruined it some people saying it's the best arc is also cap but definitely one of my fav arcs but I feel like coming into it knowing it's a filler arc also ruins it 'cause when I watched it for the first time I thought it was canon so the tension was there as well as the comedy
