You should watch anime called bakuman. An anime about mangaka. It give you understanding about how manga is created and how hard a mangaka to create a manga. And the mangaka of bakuman is the one who write death note as well.

Also by the way Oda gets 3 hours of sleep each day writing all the story himself and drawing key artwork as well with his assistants. So definitely put respect on that and his insane hard work, he’s up there with Osamu Tezuka (creator of Astro boy and Godfather of anime and manga) in terms of hard work.

Oda writes the entire story, the only time you see other writers step in is anime only filler scenes and episodes which Oda isn’t apart. But the vast majority of the story is written by him alone, only Toei add in filler nonsense in the anime that you see at times. Oda writes all the story parts in the manga you see himself , the only thing his assistants help him with is drawing backgrounds for the manga to help his pace getting then chapter out. So that scene you like Oda came up with himself, you’ll hopefully check it out in the manga one day since the One Piece manga is a masterpiece compared to the anime which is still good too.

The whole story is written by Oda alone. He sleeps little and has been working hard for 20 years. So this is a compliment to him

Actually not true. The World Government and the Marines are separate organizations. The Marines work under the World Government as their main military force. So Aokiji would have no authority over CP9

The best thing about Oda as a writer is that he’s made last minute decisions with the story that have paid of greatly, 2 examples relevant to this point in the story being making vivi a princess, & making lucci a member of the CP9

To clear up misconception. Oda writes and draws anything that moves or is living himself. His assistant work on very small background details. But water. Clouds. Flowers. People etc oda draws himself.

Oda writes everything. He doesnt have help with writing whatsoever. He does have some people that clean up the drawings though.

Oda actually works ao hard with one piece, it’s 100% percent him when it comes to the story anf characters. That is actually kind of an insult to say that the story isnt 100% him because the dude actually sleeps for just 4 hours on most days just so he can write one piece and deliver that weekly manga to us for 2 decades now. But he does have an editor and maybe a few people on his team as assistant. Just like the doctor has nurses, lawyer has his secretary or legal assistant.

Oda started writing One Piece when he was a teenager(being inspired by "Vicky the Viking" and I'm pretty sure had the main story written before he was given the anime.

Oda is the author of One Piece. Oda even said once he never wants help because if the manga does well or poorly, he doesn't want the blame to fall on anyone else.

If it makes you feel any better Lycan, just like how Nikki doesn't write the songs she songs, Oda is in fact not the voice of all the characters he writes. We're all part of a team, we all have people supporting us in certain ways, but you gotta give credit where credit is due. If you really wanna elevate someone, you gotta ask how vital they are to the final product? One Piece wouldn't exist without Oda for example. So then you have to ask, what part of her songs makes you like them? Is it the writing or the way she performs them? How vital? That's the question.

To add on to this, manga series, unlike many western comics, are written and drawn by one author. There are exceptions, like Promised Neverland or One Punch Man, where one person does the writing and another does the art, but I've never heard of any manga with a rotating list of writers. It's one of the things that really makes manga special. Each series really is one person's creative work and vision.

Lucci is only a leopard. The cat-cat type is the category of the zoan fruit so there are other 'cat' types

One Piece is 100% Oda, Oda is a genius and my man. obviously he has changed certain characters/plot points at the request/advice of his assistants but that happens with every mangaka and manga artist, other than that he has thought up everything himself.

As far as anyone knows, Oda is the only writer for One Piece. He has assistants, but they are there to work on background art, fill in tones and blacks, and draw certain effects. The only other person who would have input on the story would be his editor. It's unclear how much influence editors have on the series they are assigned, but One Piece has had several editors and the story has maintained a consistent tone, atmosphere, style, and quality over 900+ chapters. It's Oda's series and he's spent 25 years of his life working on it so I think it's fair to attribute the story's quality primarily to him.

Oda does have editors that have given him suggestions on things he should add to the story. for instance, the idea of seven warlords was made by the editors but obviously Oda created each character and thank god he did because we have characters like Mihawk added into the story. However in terms of the story telling, its purely Oda
