We have to see things in their perspective and right now, up to that point in the story you can make that argument that sanji has been played, and yeah he’s showed intelligence before but in terms of fights yeah i agree with you guys, i didn’t realize that before until you guys brought it up, but compared to the fights the other members of the crew, sanji’s haven’t been that impressive, excluding of course the ones that you mentioned those were great!!

I think something that keeps getting overlooked as people only focus on the fights and strong opponents, is that Sanji several times in the show has proven himself to be pretty clever and done things that are big accomplishments without him having to directly fight someone. Like there could've been a big fight against Captain T-Bone but instead he just big brain played him out of the picture. Also in Little Garden and Alabasta he helped the crew out big time with his plans. Luffy has some creative moments and shines as a leader, and Zoro is pretty much all brute force, where as Sanji is super strong but also is usually thinking a lot more about things when he isn't swooning over the ladies.

I get what they mean because Sanji's fights aren't as great as Luffy's and Zoro's, but they're definitely not as bad of opponents as Chopper and Usopp.

I kinda agree that sanji’s fight up to this point is always against someone kinda goofy. But you guys arent giving sanji that much credit arent you?lol you praised how chopper had a good fight with the swamp dude but for some reason his fight with kurobi isnt good for you guys? I mean, at the end of the day, he still fought formidable opponents that only the three of them were able to beat. Also, Sanji had many moments up to this point like him saving the crew from drowning when they were so helplessly trapped by crocodile, and also in skypeia.

Yeah, I think you might be right about Sanji. He gets some good character scenes, and gets to mop up trash every arc, but his record against folks with names is weak. 1. Gin on the Baratie, which he kinda lost 2. Fights a nobody in Arlong Park, spends a lot of time on support 3. Nothing much in Loguetown 4. Sat out Whiskey Peak 5. Sat out Little Garden 6. Bodied on Drum Island, like three times? 7. Beat Mr. 2 in Alabasta--this was good. 8. Sat out Jaya 9. Knocked out Satori, the ball priest on Skypiea. Spent the rest of the arc on support or getting bodied 10. Groggy Monsters (w/ Zoro) on Long-Ring 10. Bodied (with everyone else) by Aokiji 11. Franky Family mop-up on Water 7 12. wanze. I can't believe, in 259 episodes, noodle-nose is probably in Sanji's top ten fights.
