They aren’t power ups they’re just using abilities they never had to use before, as said they’re in a situation in which they now know they can go all out on the villains, who this time aren’t a joke like before.Specially in zoros case since he just plainly becomes stronger every fight, eg learning flying cuts in sky island and cutting steel in alabaster, Luffy on the other hand has one of the most adaptable devil fruits its really just a case of experimenting by seeing things eg, sees a train and how it works by pumping steam, he applies that, sees a slingshot, applies that, just like ace thinking of a gun and using his devil fruit in its likeness, it’s not like devil fruits expend your energy afterall(as in to say enels limit of creating energy is never shown). No spoilers, but you two keep saying you don’t know Luffy backstory, and I think it’s important to keep that in kind
