One Piece fans are so serious about everything. They don't need to see every little detail and even if they miss something, there's literally THOUSANDS of flashbacks they'll get on this stuff. One piece fans literally ruin reaction channels all the time with that "I've seen everything in one piece and I need everybody to see and react the same way I do" mindset.

People need to calm down and let the double dragon broz react how they want to, did you commentors catch every detail on your first watch through? I bet not. These guys are excellent reactors and analysts, I like how they approach things from different angles, but with people telling them they are missing out stuff in the anime and dictating that they rewatch scenes is making them do double work and taking the fun out of it. And if it becomes not fun for them then guess what happens... Bottom line, we are their patrons, not the other way around. Cut them some slack.

Bruh they again missed everything at the beginning of the episode? How did Robin learn about the ships? You already spoiled yourself very much this backstory. I have been waiting for it for months, this is the most mysterious and important for the world One piece backstory. Every detail must not be missed. But it was precisely in this backstory that you decided to skip pieces, to be distracted by a kitten, bro, it's just impossible. Rewatch it at least later yourself again, this is important

This whole arc is really messed up for pacing. To be honest, this is where I first dropped One Piece as a kid. I couldn't take waiting for fansubs, only to run into mid-arc filler stories, clip shows, long recaps, glacial establishing and reaction shots... Pretty sure they straight-up re-play some scenes after the commercial break. I wish I could say it gets better, but good God does it get worse. It sucks, because the story is awesome, but it deserves better than what the animation studio was putting out around this time. Quick edit: To give you an idea what it was like to watch this at time of broadcast, Enies Lobby (and the lead up to the next arc) were 63 episodes spread out over two years, for about 24 *hours* of anime. It's so bad that there are multiple fan recuts of the next few arcs that cut the air time in half.

I know people already mentioned it but I really wanna stress it. The part of this ep you guys missed at the start is really important for the context of whats going on. I dont mind if you dont react to it but ya'll gotta have that info

Is it just me or is Aokiji being a Vice Admiral a bit weird given the timeline? That's a long time to be at one rank. Edit: this spawned a whole Wikipedia dive for me. TIL in the US armed forces, lower ranked officers have a time limit before they must be either promoted or retire. Higher ranked officers like Brigadier General/Rear Admiral and up do not have this time limit. They DO have an age limit though but most don't hit that limit and decide to voluntarily retire to allow their juniors to be promoted since there are set number of slots similar to the Marines in One Piece. I believe you guys missed the first few scenes of 275 as well, 275 doesn't start right into the flashback. There are scenes before the opening. I can't remember for how long but the episodes sometimes do this. 3-4 minutes of actual new content and then the opening runs.

I don’t know if someone fully explained what a Buster Call is but here you go: 1 Fleet Admiral 3 Admirals 20 - 30 Vice-Admirals A bunch of Rear Admirals And so on... This is the hierarchy of the Marines/Navy. A Buster Call can only be enacted by an Admiral, Fleet Admiral, or a really high ranking World Government official. When it is activated, 5 Vice-Admirals and 10 Battleships arrive to completely erase an island off the map. Admiral Aokiji temporarily gave Spandam the ability to enact one. Spandam is not high enough in rank to enact one by himself so he had to get it from Aokiji. Only posted this because some people can get confused on what it is. Also, in this flashback Aokiji is not an Admiral, only a Vice-Admiral so keep that in mind.

Probably realised by now but you skipped the scene before the opening and that's probably why you were confused during this reaction.
