Luffy never knew that Ace was captured and was going to be executed. Pirates always go through intense battles, just like Luffy with Croc and Arlong, Especially with Croc, he was near death twice and Luffy's vivre card would've been the same as Ace. now he knows he's captured and going to be executed, ofc he has to go save him. he can't go save him every time

Exactly, it would be super impractical to divert from your sea course just to check up on a sibling every time they face a bit of trouble, a sibling that’s way more competent than you are, & has the backing of one of the strongest pirate crews on the sea

I get what you guys are saying about the vivre card. All I'll add is that I don't think Ace gave it to Luffy with the thought that he would ever be defeated, so marking the paper in some way or saying like "hey if it starts burning up I might need help" would be kind of like Ace admitting defeat in advance. I took it more as it would lead him to Ace one day because he could use it to find what direction Ace is in. Luffy also thinks really highly of his brother, so even if he sees the card kinda burnt, he basically sees him as invincible so he's not really worried. Again though Luffy is not the type to worry about things, but I get that you guys would have responded differently.

Hey guys if you want a better idea of where Luffy is you can pause where the map is an look at it more closely. The red x is amazon lily on the Calm Belt, and at the bottom right corner is enies lobby as it's on the Grand Line but further away from the red line. The other two are Impel Down and Marine HQ.

One piece is all context, you miss the fact they’re brothers but pirates, the fact luffy had his own crew/“family” to worry about, and the fact it’s only been upwards of a week since they left moriahs area. Also the map, you gotta know where tf people are in relation to the map, the calm belt, red line etc are important factors too

Also you should remember that not many days has been passed since Luffy learned that Ace was in trouble. And he didn't have much time to look at the condition of life paper with all the incidents happening and think peacefully what it's condition means. I think not even one week has passed because Zoro was still suffering when they separated and we know monster trio recover rate is pretty high. Luffy always has one track mind as we saw many times. If he has one thought in his mind he will forget everything else. After SA incident when he was sure that his crew might also be safe, he just wanted to go back to meet them. Although people say Luffy is asexual and that is why he didn't react to Boa's charms, It might be true but I think his one track mind might be the reason too. He was thinking only about how to go back to meet his crew. I remember before Alabastha his only thought was to beat crocodile, in Ennis Lobby to beat Lucci etc. When he has something in his mind he just shuts everything else. At Shaboady too he saw people kept in captive but didn't even react because he was searching for Camie.

Luffy is not in new world. Calm belt is on either side of grand line. Amezon lily is in calm belt at a distance of one week from Shaboady. That is why granny was surprised that Luffy ended up at Amezon lily after in just two days after the celestial dragon incident. So Kuma can send people not only to far off places but very fast too. I don't know if they showed it in anime or not but I think in manga while showing about the current that marines use, the position of SA and Amezon lily were also shown in the map. Or that might appear on later date.

If luffy knew ace was gonna get executed at thriller bark he would’ve went. Do you both not get it ? Lol Do you guys understand if Ace had Luffys Vivre Card it’ll Be burnt up the same size for ages because he’d be at near death from all his battles we’ve seen so far ? Ace wouldn’t even come once only cause it’s normal for pirates to be near death.
