When you reach nen master level you are essentially equal in terms of physical traits unless your a enhancer. Hxh is a battle of how well you use your nen abilities against another this is because then nen system is easily the most balanced system allowing for anyone in the show to be strong with the few extra ordinary who have a higher level of nen potential.

Not a lot of bs goes into Nen, it’s detailed in its categories and it has its limits depending on what you’re willing to sacrifice for power. Plus, anyone can be a top player with good Nen use.
