I love Renji and Rukia's backstory. It's cool how Renji came to the point of being real with Ichigo wanting him to save her, he just swallowed his pride after their battle. Now we see Renji in a different light. Also when he was showing support for Rukia in the flashback when she was being taken in by the Kuchiki family, he didn't mean any of that. He was just saying all that thinking it would make Rukia feel better. In reality he didn't wanna lose her, but she got taken away from him.
